BMW’s vehicles are commonly well known, so there’s no need to introduce this manufacturer. From the beginning they’ve represented one of the best alternatives on the market. The Bavarian cars are symbols of precision, performance and immutable charm. Let’s be honest – who didn’t dream about the BMW in their childhood? At least once? We dreamed about the time, when this machine would be our. The BMW brand is a synonym for a young and unchained power that wants to reveal. Also we known that these cars are common target of many tuners, no mater if they’re pros or only enthusiast garage owners?. One of the prestigious companies is a famous Rieger that uses same language as the manufacturer. This time the company has improved the most powerful car of the 3-class – BMW M3. Let’s take a look at the result.

BMW M3

The BMW M3 is a combination of power and perfect design that is known for every fan of four wheels. The letter „M“ in the name means something more than an ordinary BMW can offer – it’s especially a great performance and sporting feeling. But in this case it isn’t only about the feeling. The first model BMW E46 M3 was introduced in the year 2000 in Geneva and it was clear, that this will be a very successful car. Now we can agree.

Under the hood of this BMW we can find a furious 3.2 liter V6 that produces satisfactory 343hp (252kW) at 7900rpm. 100kmph takes only 5.2 seconds.

RIEGER BMW M3 TUNING

As we’re used in the case of Rieger, this company always offers something special to attract its customers. Rieger is famous for its approach to tuning without doing something extreme and the results are often very sporty with distinctive shapes of bodykit boosting car’s furious image.

So Rieger has prepared for this BMW a really pumped bodykit that has many fearless elements. Everything starts the front part of the car that has been modified very carefully, because also the stock M3 has a really big sporting potential.

For more aggressive look, there are new eyebrows of the headlights and an extension for the front bumper. It consists of a laminated spoiler with attached carbon diffuser. This is only 44 mm wide but on the other hand, it improves its self-confidence and sporting accent :).

Furthermore, this set has also a pair of small stabilizers as seen on various racing cars as from DTM series. This element is very nice and fits perfectly with the rest of the bodykit.

Also the side part of the car is great as the front. There are very expressive sill extensions that are characteristic with a pair of smaller openings on each sill divided with a laminated bar. As usually, they’re used for cooling disc brakes. More over, they’re beautifully designed and match amazingly.

The last step is the back of this ride. This is also a place where the designers made decent, but sporting changes, they modified the rear bumper with installing a carbon diffuser that is surrounded with two pairs of exhaust tips. It’s very elegant bud maximally sporty work.

Maybe the best delicacy on the car is beautiful 14-spoked silver BBS rims. Their dimensions are 8.5Jx19 in the front and 10Jx19 in the back. They wears Continental tires.

I think that there’s no better pair than the BMW coupe and BBS rims. The rims made by this producer are simply the best and extremely durable.

So safety first and the tuners has installed Brembo brakes with 355x32mm ventilated discs, there’s also the KW’s sporting suspension for the massive wheels and sporting K&N filter.

The tuners of Rieger did a great job. But don’t be modest, they’re works are always perfect.

VW Touareg, Porsche 996 Turbo, Ford GT and Maserati MC12 XX by Edo Competition

Tuning companies’ portfolios are growing larger, no matter the kind of car. No matter if it is station wagon, sedan, SUV or coupe, all cars are in demand. We assess Germany as the country of unlimited possibilities, at least in the area of automobiles. It makes not odds, if you are owner of a sporting station wagon or an uncompromising full-blooded sport car – Germans can adjust anything. One of such companies is specialist on pure sport vehicles as for example Lamborghini Gallardo, Aston Martin DB9, Porsche GT2 RS, etc. Not by accident they say, that Germans are tuning maniacs and this is true also for the company Edo Competition, which has dispatched four representatives: Porsche 996 Turbo, VW Touareg, Ford GT and Maserati MC12. You wouldn’t find more powerful lineup.

EDO COMPETITION

Behind all this stands one passionate German motorist Edo Karabegovic. After some time spent in one Ferrari workshop in the south Germany and some traveling around the world with various racing teams, he gained enough experience and knowledge to start his own business. 2001 was a breakthrough year, because this is when the special Porsche 996 GT3-R was born. This moment started the tuning history of this German company – Edo Competition.

By now, this company created more than 20 modified high-class vehicles. Today, we want to introduce you one quartet, which is really worth it.

VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG TUNING

There’s no need to introduce this luxurious SUV. It’s been some years from his birth, but the demand for it still doesn’t decline and this true also for tuning companies. Several modified versions of this cross-country has been made. However, until now, we have written about the “old” version.

It is not so long ago, that the new version of popular VW Touareg was introduced. And some time after this, first visual-performance packet appeared.

On the outside is the modified Touareg different with expressive red-black paintwork. The interface between red, which starts at the front part, and black is designed in such a way, that the red continuously fades with look of strokes of paintbrush. I don’t know why, but I find this combination of colors very suitable for a car. Tuners really knew, what they wanted to reach.

Exterior + interior
Design and interior adjustment wasn‘t worked out in a difficult way, tuners preferred sporting decency.

In the front part of the bumper is new bottom part GFK, which includes a large central opening for air delivery to the cooler of engine, a pair of side openings with integrated fog lights and regular headlights, and chromium grille. Almost all openings are filled out with black expanded metal. Sometimes, less can be more.

At the side of the car were added very sporty side sills and chromium plates on every door. It may look like, it is not enough, but side sills perfectly fit the style and overall essence of this SUV. More aggressive elements would be beside the symbiosis of car and style. The rear part is characteristic with diffuser with central opening and four round exhaust tips with diameter 89 mm, which are based on stainless cat-back system for more sharp sound. This will certainly help Touareg to get noticed.

Aluminum pedal set and other details are natural parts.

Performance
Engine modification of any vehicle indicates, that tuners are not satisfied with what is default stored under the hood. In every engine, some potential is hidden and this is twice evident in VW Touareg. By modification of control unit and by means of added sporting filter, the tuners increased the power of 5-liter 10-cylinder by 70 horse powers.

With this increase of power, the suspension had to be adjusted too. In place of stock alloys, there are new two-color three-part twisted alloy wheels with dimensions 10,0x22 inches with tires 295/30R22. Behind them is new braking set of brake-wheels with 360 mm and 6-piston calipers. Moreover, pneumatic suspension with adjustable height was added.

PORSCHE 996 TURBO TUNING

Vehicles Porsche have always been symbols of sporting spirit in motor sport. Ferdinand Porsche certainly didn’t thought of what success his car make may have, when he manufactured his first car. Porsche family grew very quickly and constantly created new members. One of them is powerful Porsche 996 Turbo, which became the target of team of Edo Competition company.

All was initiated with red-black paintwork, which is identical with paintwork of modified Touareg. Everyone has to make his own opinion about if this style fits the character of this German car.

Design
Since the vehicles Porsche are proud owners of aerodynamically elements with a decent amount of sport exclusivity already in their stock versions, guys from Edo Competition better didn’t try to change it. What is perfect, can’t be made better. So, only a bottom spoiler under the front spoiler was added. This, with its aerodynamical shape, creates a pleasant harmony with the rest of the front part.

And we suppose we don’t have to mention the car looks more aggressive. Furthermore, all front openings were stocked with protective grills, to support the more powerful engine. Simple and impressive.

Performance
Much more was done inside of this German sting. Also here rebounded the desire for more power – stock 420 horse powers were obviously too few for tuners. Because of this, under the hood was installed more powerful turbo and sporting filter BMC-Sport. The result is better performance – but not just because of these changes. Besides that, new exhaust system terminated with four robust exhaust tips (because of higher amount of emissions), sporting clutch and the improved transmission were installed. Result – astonishing 585 horse powers (438 kW) at 6790 rpm. With this you can do miracles :-).

Safety above all. This sentence is probably slogan of every tuning company and in Edo Competition, they interpret it as height-adjustable pneumatic suspension and powerful disc brakes. In front, these are drilled brake wheels with 370 mm with 6 pistons, in the rear, there are 342 mm wheels with four pistons. There was place also for beautiful and relatively large alloy wheels booted in low-profiles 245/35R18 in front and 315/30R18 in the rear. These are 18 inch three-part alloy wheels painted black with dimensions 9.0x18 in front and 12x18 in the rear. System, which controls pressure in tires is a matter of course.

Bulletproof Automotive Honda S2000 GT

There are some special vehicles in the automotive history that influence their fans. This means still increasing interest in their heritage and of course in their ownership. And this is more intensive, when one of these fans is an owner of not small tuning company that hasn’t any showcar yet. So this is the time for a really luxurious project. We’d like to introduce you an American tuning company called Bulletproof Automotive and their showcar made of Honda S2000.

HONDA S2000 – still popular image-maker

The Honda S2000 is a popular stylish roadster made by Japan designers that was created on the occasion of the Honda’s 50th anniversary. Meanwhile it’s also a successful follower of previous sporting models as S500, S600 and S800. It’s a real fun car after some time – an engine in front, RWD so it provides exciting ride all the time. And don’t forget it’s a convertible.

This vehicle has a few important advantages compared to other cars, not only tuning ones. These advantages particularly involve its small dimensions (with only 2 seats), only 1200kgs of weight, super temporal design and of course amazing handling.

And it has an astonishing aggregate inside.

Honda installed a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder aggregate with DOHC-VTEC direct injection. It can produce 243hp (179kW) at surprising 8300rpm. It’s very impressive value also in these days, when there are similar engines with similar power, but turbocharged or supercharged. But this wasn’t the S2000’s only engine; there are still a few modifications for different markets and needs.

Bulletproof Automotive HONDA S2000

Bulletproof Automotive isn’t much known tuning company among Europeans, but their results are one of the greatest on the scene.

This American company provides import and distribution of high performance tuning parts from Japan. And it’s well known that Japanese are crazy about tuning. So Bulletproof Automotive has decided to build their own showcar for presentation.

Exterior
The car has a very long list of modifications. Let’s get started from the exterior with a really wide bodykit. It’s interesting that it’s made of more bodykits from various companies as Tracy Sports, Top Secret and Powerhouse Amuse.

Creativity has no borders and this car proves it. The bodykit is an incarnation of bold ideas and brain waves of designers assigned to build a fascinating showcar.

The front part of the vehicle is characterized with the extending massive bumper with one central opening providing cool air to the engine’s cooler. On the sides we can find two pairs of smaller spoilers correcting this air-flow. The bumpers have oval lines, same as the rest of the bodykit and it’s fluently connected to the extended fenders. These are parts of Japanese wide bodykit same as the distinctive side sills.

Side of the car is something not seen very frequently. The space behind the front wheels is 100% used with many openings as a pair of vertical elongated right behind the wheels and six branchiform ones behind. All openings are used to off take hot air from the brakes.

They also have fancy side sills that are continuously connected to extended rear fenders. But don’t forget about external mirrors inspired by JGTC NSX with a decent carbon line.

Everybody knows that the Honda S2000 is a roadster with a canvas roof in the stock version. But it’s noticeable at the first sight, that this modified Honda is a little bit different. Ann that’s the element that Bulletproof Automotive designers are proud of.

The custom hard top was specially designed for this car and meets all necessary requirements of aerodynamics. It’s attached to the stock roof and visually stretches the car. There’s a decent wing and third brake light on its end. Additionally windows are created by Bulletproof same as the front window is.

Yes, the rear part makes many of us having willies. It has a distinctive extending of rear bumper with wild design. Openings for hot air off-take from the rear brakes are situated in the extended fenders nearby rear lights. The rear bumper is heavily modified and it’s very different from the stock one. The bumper is wider thanks to a pair of side wings and massive carbon diffuser. This one hides a pair of Tracy Sports’s 70mm wide titanium exhaust tips.

The car is trimmed with the finest stuff from Japan tuning scene – gold paintworks by Top Secret and ornaments by Japanese graphic designer Manabu Mana-P Suzuki.

Performance
When you’re building a showcar, you need to think about all aspects and parts of the car, especially about what’s under the hood. It’s necessary that also the engine needs to be well maintained, same as the car‘s exterior. So Bulletproof Automotive did some huge changes in this way. The stock F20C engine is now controlled by AEM control unit and Vortech compressor. The engine has new Tracy Sports‘s buffed lead-ins, then connected sporting exhaust system with a sporting catalyzer also made by Tracy Sports. Shifting is now provided with a carbon clutch by ORC and short shifter. The rear wheels drive is secured by the Bulletproof Automotive’s carbon shaft. This list of modifications is long and no doubt that there’ll be a nice performance boost. But unfortunately we don’t know any numbers yet.

Almost all parts of the Honda’s suspension were replaced by modified ones made by the most famous companies as Js Racing and Top Secret. So the suspension is a delicacy with a big „D.“

So let’s start – now we can stop thanks to more powerful disc brakes by Js Racing with 6-piston brake calipers. And the there are new shock-absorbers, springs, spindles, arms, joints etc. This suspension is only of its kind, because it’s a sporting suspension with immediate electronically change of ground clearance.

The Bulletproof Automotive Honda S2000 has two types of wheel set – street and track. Our pictures show the track set including 12-spoke black rims RAYS Japan which have 18x10.5 dimensions on both axles. These beautiful rims wear Toyo R1R 265/35/18 tires.

Interior
The interior of the beast combines comfort and effectivity. Elegant, but important changes don’t distract the harmony of the interior, but increasing comfort and safety.

Stock seats were replaced with sporting carbon models by Bride together with Top Secret’s sporting steering-wheel and titanium shift stick by ARC.

As Ben Schaffer (boss of Bulletproof Automotive) said: ”I’ve been admiring Honda S2000 since its birth in 1999 for its smoothness and great handling. Since then the Bulletproof Automotive wants to help the owners of S2000 to build their dream car. This project helped me to build my own dream car and I hope that this inspires others as they inspired me. I just wanted to build a legal street car for everyday use.“

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Startech Tuning

The STARTECH company, an exclusive German tuner of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge; and part of respected tuning corporation Brabus, has respond to the introduction of portfolio of legendary American off-road – Jeep Wrangler.

It’s a „mother of all off-roads“, as everybody knows, but the Jeep Wrangler needs to face growing competitors, despite of its undoubted off-road genetics.

The competition includes smaller and bigger SUVs that can attract customers also without their appropriate off-road talent.

Jeep is aware of this uncomfortable situation, so it strikes back with a brand-new model Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that is the first model with diesel engine that has been a taboo for this American conqueror.

Also it’s the first model with four doors, but that means more comfort inside the full-blooded off-road.

Designers of Startech hasn’t finished the development of styling program for the new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, so the main indication of exterior modifications are especially alloy rims Startech Monostar 9kX20, that reduce an unsprung weight of the car and that means better attributes on the „ordinary“ road.

Its high structural rigidity and surface resistance are attributes that allow driving with no fear in a hard terrain. Depending on driving conditions, the rims wear sporting or off-road tires 285/50 R 20. Also massive side stay bars for protection side sills are available as well as for the classic 3-door Wrangler.

A cover of spare wheel is a very fancy and useful element and it has a hem made of buffed stainless steel to improve the overall image of the rear part.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited can be obtained outside the USA also with the diesel aggregate. It’s a 2.8 liter CRD 4-cylinder engine with common-rail direct injection.

In its stock version it can produce 130kW (170hp) and 410Nm. But soon, the Startech engineers will introduce some power upgrade. At the first stage it will be only simple replacement with a modified ECU SD 4T and it’s important that this easy replacement can be done in all authorized Jeep workshops.

Specific numbers of this power boost are not known yet, and we don’t know about other more exacting improvements of the engine. But we know for sure, that exhaust will flow through the sporting exhaust finished with a pair of oval chromed tips symmetrically placed on both sides of the rear bumper.

In the near future, Startech would like to add a big interior program that includes also quality leather upholstery and prestigious accessories.

ASMA Design Mercedes S-class Tuning

This is an old warhorse with new ideas that has proved that it is successful in the project focused to the future and based on luxurious cars of world-famous brands that can be an advantage for your business.

In addition to known and reliable services, the company ASMA Design offers also an amazing collection of products that attracts all bystanders.

This new project is based on the car Mercedes S-class. It was created during a series of unseen, amazing and precious research tests conducted on German roads.

The amazing model is called Eagle II, because it brings some respect on the road.

As the strong wings of an eagle, there are typically elegant intakes and fenders that are constructed till the end of rear doors and lure all potential customers.

Promises need to be fulfilled so ASMA Design put different accent in case of the rear part that can scare you similarly as a dominant front part or exhaust system under the ride.

We think you remember it also thanks its warning optics. This all prove that the Eagle II is a mature machine.

The sporting exhaust system includes 40mm exhaust tips to convert the ride to a full-blooded fighter jet rolling on the wheels designed by ASMA Design too. Their dimensions are 9.5x21 in front and 11x21 at the back. Its tires are 255/30/21 and 295/25/21.

And now the high spot – technical parameters: this eagle is boosted with a 5.5 liter V8 engine producing unbelievable 425hp at 6000rpm and 430 lb-ft of torque at 2800rpm. The transmission has 7 speeds and of course its automatic as should be in a limo. Braking of 425hp is provided by cooled disc brakes – 13,9“ on the front axle and 12,6“ at the back.

The new BMW M3 V8

The M3 has been always something special in a sporting division of BMW M GmbH .Thanks to its active life in the motor sport, customers always buy it with a piece of racing history. Every of three generations of the most powerful 3-class always capitalized this legacy on the track and this made it something more than an ordinary vehicle. The fourth generation isn’t an exception and continues in this tradition.

The newest elaboration of M3 comes from the recently introduced BMW 3 Coupe and this defines main visual characteristics of the body. The perfect work is most visible on the exterior, of course, and especially on the bottom part of front bumper with massive air inlets in a typical M’s design.

All identifications such as headlamps or side profile are identical with ordinary Coupe. But I need to say, that I’d like to see the M3 based on saloon version, because its look is unbeatable.

But that doesn’t mean that the new BMW 3 has no aggressive visual that can pump your heart to the max.

In addition to the changes on the front, other modifications are in the case of immutable hood with air openings, aerodynamic rear mirrors, beautifully embedded heat sinks behind the rear wheels, more massive side sills, and of course amazing finishing of rear part with four exhaust tips.

Traditionally, we can find a specific design of wheels in case of the BMW M3s. There are 18“ forged alloys with dimensions 8.5“ width in front and 9.5“ at the back.

Maybe it’s not visible at first sight, but there’s a black roof panel made of carbon fibers with transparent paint. Particularly the visible carbon structure reveals connection with motor sport where this material is often used.

An unsprung weight, the deadliest enemy of all suspension tuners, is eliminated by aluminum parts of most parts of suspension.

A specific shape of arms and technological process of forging in combination with aluminum save about 2.5kgs on the undercarriage.

Engines are maybe the most important parts of the models of BMW M GmbH. And in case of the new M3, there are more reasons than we think.

After 15 years of six-cylinders in two recent versions and „Engine of the Year“ title, now there’s a 8-cylinder engine inside of this beast! The V8 engine has 3999 cm³ and it can produce 309kW (420hp). So we have 77.3kW (105.2hp) per liter and BMW proves that it’s an elite among naturally aspirated engines.

Its construction maturity can be seen on the fact that the peak performance is available at amazing 8300rpm.

Its maximum torque is 400Nm available at 3900rpm. More interesting is that 85% of these 400Nm are available in the range of 6500rpm and that’s astonishing. This is sometimes more important than a value of peak torque. So practically, you can use 340Nm at 2000rpm and count with them till its redline. It’s great that despite of more cylinders and bigger volume, the V8 is 15kgs lighter than the V6 from its forerunner. The power is transferred by a 6-speed manual transmission with double clutch plate to the rear axle on 265mm wide tires. There’s a brand-new variable M differential lock made by BMW M GmbH.

Besides compensations of right and left rear wheel revs, t can lock differential whenever it’s necessary for optimal traction on any surface.

Driving style can be actually modified thanks to the function Mdrive. This extension of well-known iDrive system can easily and fast change settings of all dynamic driving attributes to your own taste. For example, the driver wants more adrenaline to his veins, so it can set-up sporting profile of suspension, deactivate DSC stability control, power-steering Servotronic to the Sport mode, remap the ECU to fastest option - this everything can be saved to the iDrive. Whenever he wants to drive to the limits, he can push the magical M button on the multifunctional steering wheel and unleash the power immediately

Dodge Caliber Tuning

An Austrian tuner Königseder has no fear in case of its modifications. It can bravely start any tuning of heaviest caliber. So its newest work is a modification of American beauty called Dodge Caliber.

The Dodge Caliber is a project from DaimlerChrysler’s portfolio. It attracts especially with interesting shapes, fastback body and typical Dodge front mask that reminds muscles of American trucks. In Europe we can purchase this vehicle in three various equipments (S, SE, SXT) and with two gasoline and one diesel engine.

The gasoline V4s has 1.8 or 2.0 liters and their made by World Engine in alliance with GEMA (Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance). This alliance includes companies such as Daimler Chrysler, Hyundai Motor Company and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. The weaker 1.8 liter produces 110kW (150hp) at 6500 rpm and 168Nm of torque at 5200rpm.

The 2.0 liter engine is a little bit stronger and it’s able to produce 115kw (157hp) and 190Nm of torque at 5100rpm.

The 4-cylinder turbo diesel has 103kW (140hp) and 310Nm of torque at 1750rpm. It has VGT technology and four valves per cylinder, electronically controlled direct injection of fuel under high pressure (2000 bar). So this improves fuel burning and that causes better performance and fuel economy.

The Caliber is so original and typical Dodge vehicle that there’s no way to make a mistake with another car. And the tuner Königseder put some Austrian elegance to this American beauty.

The mask was changed on the first place. Now it looks less brutal than in the original Dodge. Front bumper is a little bit wiser and there can be front diffusers.

The side line of the vehicle is prettified with side sills that are made of two parts in front and at the back. Same broadening has been used in case of the both bumpers. At the back we can find also a stylish roof spoiler.

Of course, also exhaust tip makes the rear part sportier and more pleasure. So this is a short list of Königseder’s changes made on this car. But there are more modifications for the Dodge caliber to mention.

This Dodge can be closer to the road about 30mm with lowering springs and also with sporting KW shock-absorbers. Its engines have enough power so we need more stability on the road.

But Königseder needs more power, so it can reprogram the ECU and boost the diesel engine to 175hp and 390Nm.

Wheels make the car. So here you can see 8.5x20“ ATS Magnum alloy rims. You can also order a set of tires – Hankook K104 245/35/20.

Peugeot 207 Tuning – Quick Fit bodykit!

Peugeot 207, a successor of very successful and maybe legendary model 206 is now stabile part of the market. As we used to see before, a new model brings also new equipment and tuning accessories. And we can find there also Belgian legend among its first tuners – Carzone Specials – styling professionals.

The Peugeot 207 continues in the success way of its predecessor. Its design is similar to previous model, but the shapes are now more modern. The hood descends to its „smiling“ mask and headlights are dynamic and predacity.

It’s bigger compared to the 206 and that’s visible especially in the interior where passengers enjoy enough space also at the back. The interior is elegant and characteristic with clean lines and simple layout of controllers.

There is a wide range of petrol and diesel engines to choose from. We can mention a small, but economical and lively 1.4 HDI diesel engine producing 68hp (50kw) or 1.6 gasoline engine developed in cooperation with BMW.

This unit offers amazing torque 240Nm at 1400rpm and 110kw (150hp). Thanks to these parameters you have guarantee that these 1356kgs allow you to drive sporty and dynamic.

My first look at photos of this 207 made by Carzone Specials made me surprised. Carzone Specials is know for its action, aggressive bodykits, but this Frenchie has only nice plastics that don’t interfere with lines of really well designed vehicle. This bodykit is maybe better than more aggressive that I’ve seen before.

The bodykit called Stream consists of spoiler on the front bumper. It’s same in case of three or five door version. The Belgians removed the Peugeot badge from the mask.

Of course, we can see side sills that continue in the line of front spoiler. This line directs to the rear spoiler that is available only for diesel engine, but Carzone Specials is preparing also spoiler for gasoline engines. So lovers of high revs shouldn’t be sad.

All parts of this decent bodykit are made with Quick Fit system. This system wil be used also with next favorite bodykits. But what is this system? It’s a way of installing spoilers on bumpers that can reduce time of installation for about 75% compared to ordinary spoilers.

Laminated bodykits are various. Some producers offer good quality, but some degrade overall reputation of these parts. So the Quick Fit system requires more effort of distributors to sell. The best way how to persuade customers that Quick Fit parts are different is to demonstrate its quality compared to ordinary products.

The ordinary laminated bodykits have thin hem (2-3mm) so sometimes a professional installation is necessary. A lot of glue and tension of parts need to be hold-up with tapes or cramps and you need to wait. So you can’t enjoy your new tuning for a longer time.

Hamann Ferrari F430 Tuning!

Maybe you’ve noticed that Hamman isn’t only focused on the BMWs. Now its activities cover almost all premium and luxury brands including supersports. About two years ago they tuned Ferrari 360 Modena, so they can’t miss its successor – the Ferrari F430. They present it as a racing car suitable for ordinary driving.

So let’s take a look what it really means. The Hamann engineers created a discreet bodykit that was tested in a wind tunnel. Despite of the stock’s very individual character, this Hamman’s can’t be mistaken. The front spoiler guarantees enough trust on the rear axle and sill extensions optimalize air-flow around the body.

Its reworked rear diffuser made of composite materials is used for thrust on the rear axle. By the way, some used parts are made of ABS plastics can be also ordered made of composite.

Next group of engineers found out that the engine has some more power hidden in its exhaust system. They’ve developed brand-new tubes and lead-ins and with help of racing catalyzers they achieved 25 kW more (48hp). They made improvements on the suspension, handling and brakes.

You can choose from two types and few dimensions of the wheels. There are PG3 and Anniversary II models from 9x19 to 8.5x20 in front and 11.5x19 to 12.5x20 at the back. Of course there are many carbon accessories for the interior and not very nice price.

Citroen Xsara Picasso Cup - Sbarro

So today we’d like to present you a car that was introduced few years ago on international motors shows, but its beauty lures nowadays too. It’s a design (but fully functional) study of Xsara Picasso by Citroen. There’s a word „Cup“ in the name, but it’s no simple, like we‘re used in the case of design and prototypes.

Franco SBARRO, a well known French construction designer obtained a chance to modify and tune vehicles for Citroen and its best-seller Xsara Picasso. Conditions were clear: it should be a fully functional racing version meeting all necessary requirements of the motor sport. Except of one condition – it should be for four passengers.

The Citroen Xsara Picasso Cup has intestines as the engine or transmission from the Peugeot 306 S16. The engine is a 2.0 liter producing 175kw and it replaced its stock 1.8 liter gasoline aggregate. Also there’s a 6-speed transmission that come from the Peugeot model. The vehicle is proud of its beautiful massive 19“ rims with 255/40 tires. Of course, that its original suspension was replaced with a racing, fully adjustable version from the Citroen Xsara Kit Car. This is also the case of braking system where we can find 8-piston brake calipers and 370mm brake discs.

Besides these drastic changes of handling and performance, there are other changes all over the car. It was broadened with massive fenders and extreme front and rear bumpers. But the most noticeable changes were made on the central part. Franco Sbarro decided that four doors are too much so now we can enjoy two gull-wing doors. In addition to the unique entrance, the change makes the chassis more stabile and stronger to avoid torsional distortion.

Franco Sbarro and Citroen show that isn’t impossible to create the beast like this from an ordinary family car. One of the Citroen spokesman said: “This Picasso has same genetics as our Xsara Coupe VTS and unbeatable champion Xsara Coupe WRC. “ So we hope that this study will be pleasure not only for all Xsara owners but also for all enthusiasts and tuning fans.

Volkswagen Golf GTI Pirelli for the year 2008!

Golf GTI Pirelli is back. The GTI is more powerful, faster and more exclusive. Volkswagen continues in tradition of one of the most known limited editions in Europe.

The original Pirelli Golf was introduced in May 1983 and it was based on the first generation of Golf GTI. It differs especially with distinctive alloy wheels with „P-like“ openings on their outer circle.

Only 10 500 cars were made and sold during six months. Yes, it was a limited edition. If there’ve been a Hall of Fame for young-timers, this Pirelli Golf GTI would be definitely its part.

But it’s here again. It’s a brand-new model to celebrate the legend. Of course with the newest high-performance Pirelli tires.

The tires are installed on 18“ titanium Pirelli rims. Its interior is slightly modified – semi-leather sporting seats with a tire pattern on the trim. Amazing.

Instead of original 112hp, the new Golf GTI Pirelli offers 230hp. This power allows reaching 245kmph and its TFSI engine produces enough power to beat 100kmph in 6.8 seconds. This beast was presented by its creator Volkswagen Individual on a perfect place – an international GTI show nearby the famous lake of Wörthersee in Austria. The Pirelli GTI will be launched in September.

A closer look at the numbers reveals that it’s the engine with same parameters as in the model Golf GTI Edition 30 introduced in 2006 in occasion of the 30th anniversary of GTI (169kW/230hp). 200hp of the original GTI has now 30hp more (30th anniversary of the introduction). And now the jubilee engine is in the Golf GTI Pirelli.

Thanks to this engine it beats 100kmph in 6.8 seconds, but it can be faster! In combination with the DSG transmission it takes only 6.6 seconds.

The GTI‘s philosophy is about a powerful car with reasonable fuel economy 8.2l/100kms or 7.9l/100kms in case of the DSF. And this is a proof of VW’s masterpiece and craftsmanship.

The motto of Pirelli is that „the power is nothing without the control. “ And Volkswagen has same opinion – rigid chassis, strong brakes, ESP – this is a right portion of safety that was proven also on the Nurburgring‘s Nordschleife. But the most important thing is good tires.

So of course, Pirelli used the latest generation of Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires. They were designed and developed for the best possible characteristics, handling, braking, and comfort and avoiding aquaplaning. The Golf FTI Pirelli owns the 255/40 R18 version.

Just like in the year 1983, also today the tires are on the alloy rim, but they’re 7.5x18“ instead of 6x14“. Its surface is covered with a beautiful titanium painting and its five spokes evoke the original design of the first GTI with the „P“ openings. This famous letter is also here on the spokes.

Golf GTI Pirelli has fully painted bumpers and side sills in the car’s color. The original Golf GTI introduced in 2004 has black sills, front spoiler and bottom part of its rear bumper.

Like the model GTI Edition 30, also the Pirelli one has the „exclusivity“ badge on the fifth floor. From the side view you can notice tinted windows and Pirelli marks on side protection moldings.

Color of this mark depends on the car’s color – there are four colors available. If you choose the color Blue graphite or Black magic pearl, the Pirelli badge will be silver. If you order the GTI Pirelli (3- or 5-door model) in the colors Sunflower or Reflex Silver, this badge will be black.

By the way the color Sunflower (bright yellow) was specially created for this model. So if you see something bright yellow in your rearview mirror and it’s approaching fast, it should be only one car – the new Golf GTI Pirelli.

Also a look into the interior takes your breath away. Similarly as the GTI Edition 30, also the interior of the GTI Pirelli is based on the stock GTI. For example its sporting seats, developed by Volkswagen Individuals, was changed to perfectly match with the Pirelli style. Side parts of the seats and its rear part, head restrains and also armrests are covered with quality leather and sewed yellow stitch. A very interesting visual contrast. But a real delicacy can be finding on the central part of the seats. They’re made of very luxurious and airy micro fiber by an Italian manufacturer Miko. There’s a tire patter all over the central part so it boosts the sporting image of the car. The limited edition can be seen on the head restrains with the Pirelli signs where the GTI signs should be.

The seats are heated and electrically adjustable. There’s a storage place under the front armrest that can be equipped with a CD changer or MP3 player.

The quality perforated leather is used on a three-spoke sporting steering-wheel and the handbrake has also the yellow stitch to match with the seats. The vertical spoke on the steering-wheel has a metallic Pirelli badge to show its exclusivity.

It’s the 25 years since Volkswagen has started the era of smaller engine volumes on its first turbo diesel engine. Of course the Turbo FSI engine in the new GTI can’t be compared to the first TD engine. But they have something common – it’s the performance achieved not by bigger volume, but thanks to turbo charging. About 10 years were necessary to replace old TD technology with TDI engines using direct injection. This engine has enhanced the principle of better performance from smaller volume thanks to the direct injection technology. This combination caused better fuel economy, lower emissions and higher output and torque.

In the Golf GTI is used this concept since 2004 when Volkswagen introduced a powerful petrol engine improved with turbo charging, intercooler and direct injection. The engine is characteristic with great fuel economy and sporting behavior too. The proof is simple and measurable – the TFSI engine with 147kW/200PS and 280Nm of torque under the GTI’s hood can reach 235kmph and only 7.2 seconds are necessary to beat 100kmph.

Its average fuel consumption is quite low – only 8 liters per 100kms. And if the car is equipped with the DSG transmission, the consumption is even slightly lower – just 7.9 l/100kms. The Golf GTI Pirelli is a proof of very big potential of the engine that combines direct injection and forced aspiration. Its turbocharged petrol engine is currently the strongest four-cylinder by VW. Its power is transferred to the wheels by a standard 6-seed transmission.

The power of this 16V V4 engine with 1984cu.cms is 169kW/230PS at 550rpm. Top torque is 300Nm and it’s available at wide range from 2200rpm to 5200rpm. Nothing is better for a sports car that the range like this.

Its efficiency is measurable also here. Despite of the extra amount of 30PS and 20Nm that increase maximum speed for 10kmph in case of the manual transmission, it consumes only 0.2 liters more than the 200hp version. The DSG version has actually same economy – 7.9 liters per 100kmph.

Porsche 997 TechArt Tuning

TechArt offers a broad tuning program along with an introduction of the newest series of 997 Porsche 911 Carrera. The German TechArt sells tuning for both types of 6-cylinders in Carerra and Carrera S in coupe and convertible versions. New bodykits from TechArt includes a sporting filter and newly programmed engine’s electronics. The kits are prepared for the engines 3.6 liters and 3.8 liters. After their installation the car has 20hp+.

The car’s attributes are improved according to used tires and weight. Its acceleration was improved about a half-second, from 4.8 sec to 4.3 seconds. The maximum speed is now 290 km/h. The interior, as we used, is luxurious and TechArt can do changes meeting the customer’s requirements. It offers a wide scale of colors and various proposals.

OPEL TIGRA TWIN TOP TUNING / VAUXHALL TIGRA TWIN TOP TUNING

Basic modifications of the Tigra include side sills, front and rear lips, rear wing, special rearview mirrors... Next accessory is a polyurethane made cover on the hood for air-intake to the suction and also for off-take from engine space. An original stock grille with badge was removed and replaced with the „Lester-style“ grille, that is also in the big bottom opening in the central part of the front bumper. Added eyebrows of front headlights give phlegmatic look and are unusual.

The front lip is nicely designed and continues in the lines of central openings to the cooler. The side sills are perfect and match with overall design of the car. There’s one exhaust tip under the rear lip. Whole plastics have a distinctive sporting character also thanks to the vertical lines for better off-take and air-stability under the vehicle. Jeep Hurricane Concept Car

Who’ve ever think that off-roads can accelerate sky-rocket and its turning radius is zero? In the most cases, they accelerate slowly and top speed is very limited. But that isn’t the case of Jeep Hurricane that can be shot to 100kmph in five seconds and it has minimum turning radius.

A hurricane? Why this name? We should imagine a powerful weather situation, where everything is flying around a great vortex all over the country. And it can sweep everything from the ground, like the Jeep Hurricane. And what‘s the principle? The most important thing is its undercarriage with all wheels turning in one way like a hurricane. This is great in a terrain or in cities, where is not enough space to turn or maneuvers with an ordinary car. This ability is a great luxury and it’s definitely an essential part of the car.

A vice-president of Chrysler Group, Mr. Trevor Creed says, that this is the most maneuverable, powerful and capable vehicle in among off-roads ever made. Its approaching angles 64° in front, 86.7° at the back, 363mm of ground clearance and huge wheels prove this theory.

An amazing fact, that the suspension elevation is 500mm, says the wheels will be always on the ground despite of extreme conditions. This car can get over all obstructions on the ground, but it can also pass a river (but you need to check its depth first). The Hurricane can turn its wheels in two ways – the first is turning the rear wheels in opposite way as the front ones to achieve better handling in the curves, and the second mode is turning all wheels in one direction, so the car can better change its direction also up-hill or down-hill.

Trabant Optik P50 Tuning

We’ve recently obtained a few pictures of little box called Trabant. This vehicle is very popular among tuners because of its very good price in the past, good fuel economy and tiny dimensions, so it can be parked everywhere. It has survived till today. Thanks to its bakelite body, small wheels and especially smoky two-stroke engine the car has low consumption and it can reach steady 90kmph?. Because of the engine was weak and its sound wasn’t very sporty, it’s called „ a furious vacuum cleaner“(just look at its front mask and hear the exhaust system ;-).

But let’s take a look at this grey handsome that can’t be blamed. This box stands on fancy 15“ rims. The body (especially at the back) was broadened because of wider tires so the fenders were pulled too. The roof is lowered to achieve the Top Chop modification. But now it’s smooth, looks really rounded and this means better aerodynamics of the car. Clear headlights and blinkers match perfectly.

Its interior is heavily modified and it’s noticeable that some parts come from other brands such as AUDI. But it looks superb. Who’ve ever think that Trabant will have a luxurious leather interior in brown-red colors, or aluminum gauges that improve overall visual effect and driving experience of its passengers.

But it’s only for two passengers, because there are no rear seats. Now there’s a roll cage to protect the passengers in the case of accident. The roll cage continues to front part of the cabin.

0-100kmph takes only 6 seconds and the top speed is 228kmph? Is it a bird, or is it a plane? No! It’s the Trabant P50 from the year 1959!

Sascha Fiß – a German tuner is a big fan of Trabants, but it’s not very popular on Trabant’s shows. Because it betrayed the idea of two-stroke two-cylinder engine. It mounted the body of Trabant on the complete chassis and slightly modified carcass of Volkswagen Lupo GTi. The Trabant’s body had been modified with laminate, broadened and lowered the roof. This style was born in the USA and it’s commonly known as the „top chop“.

But now, let’s get to the mot important part of this super Trabant. Under the hood we can see a VW engine! Its perfect placement of important parts as central cooler, containers, tubes proves that a really good craftsmanship was made there. 70-80hp in a 1.4 liter engine can allow to „fly“ at 170-180kmph! And this can compete with modern cars and 1.6 liter engines. Truckers can laugh when they see this car in their rearview mirror, but than they can be really surprised if it pass them in high speed.

The 16V 1.6 liter engine produces 125hp. The stainless exhausts system is made individually, includes two lambda probes and tow sporting catalyzers so it meets the EURO 2 requirements. The body has no former decoration and now it has fancy details such as an aluminum cap from a motorbike, or front Mini blinkers. The stylish teardrop door mirros can’t miss there. The headlights have clear optics and bi-xenon lamps behind them. The color comes from Audi TT’s catalogue.

But it has more common with the TT than you think. So what do you say about the dashboard? It also comes from the TT and we’ve seen it in everything, but not in Trabant yet. And what about the Recaro seats with a so-called baseball trim? And this everything with door leather upholstery.

Excellent! In case of the roll cage we don’t know if it’s for safety or only for the image. But it looks very good. Instruments in the dashboard have origin in the Lupo GTi and have blue illumination. Of course we can find sporting shock-absorbers and OZ Superturismo alloy rims with dimensions 7x15 and 195/45 R15 tires.

Peugeot 307cc tuning by Carzone Specials

Peugeot 307cc:

After the very successful introduction of 206 CC, the French manufacturer Peugeot decided to continue in the „CC“ tradition. It chose a very popular model among its customers – Peugeot 307 and then introduced its CC version in autumn 2003. The biggest advantage of the CC vehicles is their hard rooftop that guarantees your style in summer and protection against severe weather in winter.

With four real places, its new HDI FAP 136 motor, its built-in sports bumper with a large air intake and chrome grille, it displays a powerful, determined character.

Peugeot 307cc Tuning:

The Peugeot 307CC is especially for young and dynamic people and the guys of Carzone Specials appreciate this fact. The company focused particularly on visual tuning offers a front spoiler and side sills that are fully compatible with the version 307. As we know about Carzone Specials, they install mostly bumpers of distinctive shapes attracting all fans, no matter if younger or older. There’s a big opening in the front bumper covered with a black perforated sheet and used for air-intake to the cooler. As it’s common, there are smaller cut-outs on the sides that intake cool air to the front brake discs, so they prevent their overheating and improve the car‘s overall safety.

BMW 1 tuned by Rieger Tuning

There’s no need for close introduce of German tuner Rieger Tuning. Also „ordinary“ fans know that its products belong to top of the market. And in today’s article we’d like to present you Bavarian model 1-class (E187) modified by this company.

A Rieger’s hand is noticeable at every sight on the vehicle. The company is focused on every detail and every part of the bodykit is designed to respect quality, aesthetics and sporting look of the automobile. The front bumper is proof of this philosophy. Its shape copies the stock bumper, but there are new openings for air-suction covered with a perforated sheet. The side openings include fog lamps. Thanks to this simple change the sporting look is now more distinctive. The rest of the front remains stock. Other modifications were made on the side sills. Rieger choose an innovative design for them, with opening in front and at the back. The perfectly match with the front bumper and they look massive thanks to its wider ends. Audi A4 Tuning by Caractere

Audi – a famous car manufacturer is more than 100 years on the market. Its badge – four rings, symbolizes a connection of former independent manufacturers (Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer). A limousine and Avant estate have been modified by the famous Belgian company Caractere that works on Audi, VW and Porsche cars since 1992.
Audi A4 was introduced in 2004 in Paris in four versions – limousine, avant (estate), convertible and sporting S4.

Audi A4 Limousine:

The shape of this car is a combination of sport and luxury. You can choose from 15 engines for this model. The fastest petrol S4 version one can reach 100kmph in 5.6 seconds meanwhile its output is 253kW (344hp) at 7000rpm. Gear change is provided by a 5 or 6 speed transmission. Size of wheels depends on the chosen engine, it can be from 16“, through 17“ to 18“ aluminum or steel wheels. The same portfolio of engines is available for the estate.

Audi A4 Avant (estate):

The front spoiler has two openings filled by a black plastic grid. We can see also fog lights in this space. There’s a big sporting mask in the front part (chrome-lined), a symbol of current Audi vehicles. In the middle of the mask we can install our license plate, and behind the plate we can see Audi and Caractere badges. Front and rear lights are stock. The rear bumper has been also modified and now there’s a spoiler with a place for Duplex rounded exhaust tips of sporting exhaust. Side sills now fit better with overall design. Visual elongation of the roof is possible thanks to a roof wing with third-brake light. Sporty image of the car is enhanced with 20“ multi-spoke rims with low-profile tires.

Audi A4 Limousine Tuning:

A Viennese company Pakfeifer has decided to make Hyundai’s fans happy with its modification for a sporting model called Hyundai Coupe (Europe) or Hyundai Tiburon (USA) respectively.

Something about Pakfeifer first:

This Austrian company is doing tuning for more than 30 years. It was founded in 1972. Pakfeifer loves especially Asian brands such as Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota etc. But it doesn’t hesitate to tune other brands such as Audi, Citroen, Opel, Peugeot or VW. Customer can order parts individually, or also complete bodykits.

Hyundai Coupe / Hyundai Tiburon:

The version we present you today is the most distinctive from Hyundai’s family of coupes. Hyundai Coupe / Hyundai Tiburon is particularly for young and dynamic people and they match together Its top speed is slightly more than 210kmph and braking is provided by disc brakes on all wheels with support of ABS and EBD..

Opel Zafira II tuning by OPC

Daddy cool! So that’s the way how Opel introduced its vehicle for family trips with adrenaline potential. It‘s a second generation of Zafira in its most powerful version tuned by OPC (Opel Performance). And now it’s also the fastest European stock MPV. It has same engine as smaller Astra OPC – 2 liters of turbocharged volume producing 176kW (240hp). The power is transferred through the 6-speed manual transmission and thanks to 320Nm of torque it can „fly“ at 231kmph and beat 100kmph in 7.8 seconds. Safety first, so OPC guys installed sharp brakes – 321mm in front and slightly smaller 278mm at the back.

VW Phaeton tuning by JE Design!

JE Design is a professional tuner from Germany’s Leingarten of brands such as VW, Audi and SEAT. It offers products like V-max controller to turn on/off speed limiter during the drive and front mask without VW’s badge.

The speed limiter is also installed in Volkswagen Phaeton 4.2 liter V8 4-motion and 6.0 liter /W12 4-motion. It stops acceleration at 250 kmph and it’s controlled by programmable ECM system. A standard ECM system with maximum diagnostic capability like meeting all exhaust requirements can be reprogrammed without any obstructions or breaking technical specs. But new ECM systems can come soon.

Just one reprogramming of ECM allows Phaeton to reach 276kmph. And it still meets all TUV requirements.
JE Design also offers a very fancy front grill for all Phaeton’s models. It has no VW badge so now it’s even more elegant. In this case we can’t expect sporting experiments, because the most important values are precious work and first class quality. Because there’s no other company on the market offering modifications for this car, it’s quite popular. And this result was proved by TUV.

JE Design developed an electronic module to decrease Phaeton with pneumatic suspension. This modification involves also new wheels. There are 8,5 x 20“, ET 30mm in front and 10 x 20“, ET 35mm at the back made by German manufacturer AZEV, type PS. The manufacturer recommends Dunlop / Continental / Good Year / Pirelli or Yokohama tires with 255/35 R20 and 285/30 R20Y tires. JE Design has also own models – Multispoke. Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG - the demonstation of the power

Mercedes Benz S-class is sometimes told as a symbol of luxurious limousines. A combination of first class comfort, enough power under the elegant design has many fans. Where maximalist approach is wasting of money, in this class it‘s necessity. But it’s not because of its top position in Mercedes’ range, but it’s a member of family that doesn’t allow any compromise like its competition or demanding customers.

The top of the class was very challenging for constructers of Mercedes AMG, a traditional producer of perfect vehicles. But they took the challenge responsibly and now they can proudly present the most powerful stock saloon in the world.

Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG had its premiere at NAIAS 2006 motor show in Detroit (8th – 22nd of January 2006). The capital city of American automotive industry was a witness of demonstration of the German manufacturer for which is this market primary.

„Demonstration of the power“ – there’re no other words to name the possibility to manufacture a car that’s potential to abash producers of sport cars meanwhile it can please you with the highest comfort in the class. The highest credit of AMG vehicles is especially based on top aggregates.

Every 12-cylinder engine of S65 is handmade and installed in accordance to AMG’s philosophy of „one man-one engine. “ That means every engine is a work of one of few technicians leaving his signature on the engine.

The AMG engineers valuated their long tradition of presence in top racing competitions. A precious balanced crankshaft is made of ultra-tough materials; forged pistons are extremely resistant against pressure and heat. Every piston is also cooled by individual oil jet. A reworked fuel system works with variable pressure in range of 3.6 – 5 bars. The V12 biturbo engine has 5980cu.cm and 450kw (612hp) between 4750-5100rpm. It has a breath-taking torque of 1000Nm available between 2000-4000rpm! But not only is the value of torque excellent. It’s very linear and a lot of torque is available practically from idling revs – 570Nm at 1000rpm and 750Nm at 15000rpm!

This big portion of power and torque needs to be safely transferred to the wheels do the engineers developed new clutch discs made of high quality metal and also its drive shaft is completely redesigned. Five-speed automatic transmission AMG SPEEDSHIFT allows you to shift directly under the steering-wheel (F1 style). The shift knob with traditional PRND modes is now situated on the steering-column as a lever. Its former place is now used as a controller of transmission and suspension styles – Sport, Comfort and Manual.

Dynamic potential of S65 AMG needs no compromise in case of braking system. Innovative double brake calipers combine advantages of flowing construction – lower heat stress and cultivated work with performance of massive calipers.

Composite brake discs has 390 and 365mm and their ventilated technology is beautiful behind 5-spoke 19“ AMG alloy wheels. Optimal contact with roads is provided thanks to tires with these dimensions: 255/40 ZR 19 in front and 275/40 ZR 19 at the back.

Aerodynamic modifications of bodykit and four exhaust tips reveal that you’re looking at the top model of the class, but individual character is noticeable in the interior. After door opening the AMG logo appears and covers the speedometer of 360kmph.

Sportsmen enjoy special gauges such as oil temperature, voltmeter and special gadget called Racetimer. This function process time spent on the circuit – fastest lap, average or top speed, remaining distance etc. Racetimer can bea easily accessed with buttons on the ergonomic sporting-wheel.

Tuning the Ford Mustang ECU

You've got a late model Ford Mustang, and you really want to fine tune its performance, but doing a physical engine modification is a bit beyond you. What do you do? You start by tuning the ECU - the electronic control unit - but to do this, you need either a chip or a tuner. How do you choose? Each type of programming device has merits; each has flaws. Here's a brief rundown of some of the major options:

Using a chip, such as the 4-Bank SCT Eliminator Chip, can be the most straightforward choice, because a chip plugs directly into the J3 port on the ECU that came with your car.

Pros:

Retains your stock tune, but also holds settings for four custom tunes
Has a switch that allows for instant tune changing (say, if you're about to be in a drag race).
Can be fitted with a bezel so it will mesh with the look of your car.

Cons

Has to be removed from car and returned to manufacturer in order to add or edit installed tunes.

Tuners:

Unlike chips, these are handheld devices that overwrite, or "flash," the existing tuning settings in the computer of your Ford Mustang , much like flashing the firmware on an mp3 player or PC. These tuners are plugged into the OBD II port, which is found on the driver's side of the car, beneath the dash. They come in two basic types, "strategy" and "custom."

Custom Tuners Custom tuners like the Livewire, X-Calibrator 2, and X3 Powerflash allow a certified programmer to adjust as many as 3,000 different variables (depending, of course, on the specific model and year of your Mustang), each of which is created specifically for your car. Each tune will take into account any previous modifications you have done, so even highly modified used and new cars, even those that have been turbo-charged, can be custom tuned to your desired specifications.

Custom tuners include the ability to make end-user adjustments to things like gear ratio and Air/Fuel ratios, and can also be adjusted very precisely to accommodate specific weather or road conditions.

For your safety, most custom tuners retain your original settings (downloaded the first time you plug it in), for later reversion. They also lock to the VIN number on your car, so no one else can use them.

The downside of custom tuners is that they only hold three tuning profiles, and they have to be programmed by licensed SCT programmers. As well, if your Mustang is turbo- or super-charged, you need to find an SCT programmer with a dynamometer.

Strategy Tuners Strategy Tuners, on the other hand, contain a selection of popular stock tuning profiles, for Mustang drivers who need control, but not custom settings. They have fewer end-user settings that can be adjusted, but if you have experience with Mustang tuning you can still accommodate settings for your bolted-on modifications. They also allow some adjustment for weather, road, and fuel injection changes.

The cons of selecting this kind of tuner include the fact that you really need to know what you're doing before you make changes. However, they can be moved from car to car - so if you bought a tuner for one car, and have since purchased a new one, as long as the first car was flashed back to it's original tuning, you can re-tune your tuner for the new Mustang in your possession.

2008 Dodge Challenger exposed

The original Dodge Challenger was a late introduction to the United States pony car market, and was first launched in the 1970 model year, as a direct competitor of the Mercury Cougar, and derived from the Plymouth Barracuda, though it was two inches longer and had completely different lines. Following the recent trend of retro-muscle cars being re-imagined, the 2008 Dodge Challenger, which will be released later this year, joins Ford's redesigned Mustang and Chevy's upcoming 2009 Camaro as a modern muscle car.

The concept form of the 2008 Challenger debuted at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show, and since then it's earned a fair share of buzz both online and in print media, garnering more than a few magazine covers along the way. Dodge is clearly hoping that this Challenger will give its performance image a boost.

Based on the same platform also being used for the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger Sedan, a modified version of the Chrysler Group's LX platform, the initial Challengers will be offered with rear-wheel drive, and only one choice of engine: a 6.1 liter Hemi V-8 that pushes out 425 horsepower in cars where it's already in sue, like the Charger, Magnum, and 300. While Dodge is clearly intending this to be a limited edition vehicle, critics worry that limiting production to one engine design may hurt sales, especially since the competing Ford Mustang and planned Chevy Camaros both offer V-6 options.

While there is only one engine, purchasers of the 2008 Dodge Challenger will have the option of either a six-speed manual transmission, or a five-speed automatic, which will combine with the 6.1 liter engine and comparatively low curb weight to allow acceleration from zero to 60 mph in under 5 seconds. As well, it's got fat tires supporting it's modern suspension system, antilock brakes and an aggressive anti-skid system.

Cosmetically, the 2008 Challenger stays true to the original car from the '70's, with a nose and tail taken directly from the older car, and sides that are reminiscent of the Barracuda from the same year. As well, this vehicle is a true hardtop - there are no central roof pillars - and Dodge doesn't seem to be planning a convertible version.

Inside the car, which comfortably seats four people, the black upholstery is a lean contrast to the bright orange exterior, though it is accented with silver, as well as narrow bands of orange on the seat backs. Principal interior designer Alan Barrington even cites the 1970 model as a source of inspiration, telling reporters last summer that, "…we wanted to capture the memory of that car, but expressed in more contemporary surfaces, materials and textures." What they wound up with is an instrument panel that sits high in the car and is intersected by a cluster of three circular gauges, and a fourth, larger gauge (really a computer display) that allow the driver to monitor overall speed, quarter-mile speed and time, and the top speed for each gear.

Those in the know say that the production vehicle of the 2008 Dodge Challenger looks exactly like the concept car, inside and out. Dodge's website has a link to information about the auction of the very first Challenger, but the rest of us will have to purchase one. The starting MSRP, at your local new car dealer, ranges from $37,320 to $40,095.

Weineck Cobra 780 cui Limited Edition – a modern devil in classic body!

Today’s world is overcrowded with new trends, gadgets and modern stuff. Maybe in the near future we’ll have mobile phones installed in our hands or credit cards in thumbs. So this is also the case of automotive industry where technology rules. It’s not bad, but sometimes we forget about classics. The classic on four wheels reigned many years ago and beat speed limits. There were cars with highest performance and look great also today.

Let’s take some examples as ´69 Dodge Charger RT or Shelby Cobra CSX 4000. These famous names remain in our heads and hearts. But there are people that don’t want only to remember those times but resurrect this golden age. We’re talking about the guys from Weineck Engineering that started to rebuild the most famous classic roadster – Cobra. So come on, take a look at the result, but some history first.

History of Shelby Cobra

Everything started in 1923 in American town Leesburg in Texas, when a boy called Carroll Shelby was born. In that time nobody had idea that this little baby would be a part of automotive history and his name would be held by the most famous roadsters.

Carroll was an ordinary guy; he was studying, fighting in a war and then working at farm. But after few years he left farming and became a racer.

He was racing with passion and it was noticeable that he loved cars really much. In 1954 he became a professional racer after success competitions. He became widely popular and during the years 1956 and 1957 he was honored as the Sports Car Driver of the Year by famous Sports Illustrated.

He always had dream to build its own car. He was always drawing and trying to create his own design. He also realized its name – Cobra. And then it happened. His first own built car was also famous as CSX2000 or Cobra. It was born with a V8 engine made by Ford. This was just the beginning – next cars were 427 S/C Cobra, Cobra 289, Shelby GT 350SR, GT 500E „Eleanor”...

STOCK COBRA

The core is ´65 Shelby Cobra 427, the best roadster in those times and roads. It attracted people not only with unique design, but also with its performance. And those numbers were enormous. The car was powered by Ford’s 7.0 liter V8 power plant producing stock 425hp (362kW) at 6500rpm. It was controlled with a 4-speed manual transmissions and its top speed was 266kmph. But more impressive value is its acceleration. It can easily beat 100kmph in just 4.2 seconds. Unbelievable, the power of the 60’s. This cars was and is still beast with „mojo.“

Hummer H2, a successor of H1 model (especially used by the US army force) is more limousine than off-road king. Maybe this is a reason why so many tuning companies would like to modify this car, often with very good results. This is also the case of Magnat that as you can see had a great time during its modification. Hummer H2 Magnat Showcar is a unique result of Magnat’s hard work.

Hummer H2 was first time introduced on North American International Auto Show in 2000. It’s available in two versions:

A 6 liter V8 OHV SMPI engine with 16 valves produces 232kW (316hp). Acceleration to 100kmph takes about 10 seconds and its top speed is slightly more than 150kpmh. A 4-speed automatic transmission shifts gears for you. Of course the vehicle has a four-wheel drive system.

Madness with products by Magnat and Audiovox:

The most visible exterior’s change is its paint. The whole car is covered with airbrush. It costs 14,000 Euros to spray 7-layer lack and airbrush motives. Majority of parts are made of chrome, for example:

Let’s move to the interior where we can find more surprises. When we opened doors we noticed many speakers and LCD monitors. But we’ll talk about them later.

Also the interior was painted with the 7-layer paint. Seats have now leather upholstery for 5,000 euros. Gauges have white illumination and chromed hems.

Cobra Technologie & Lifestyle tuning of Nissan 350Z

Nissan 350Z is like a magnet for tuning companies. No doubt that this car is very popular, it offers great sporting value forms your money. And Cobra Technologie & Lifestyle knows this too. The company is known especially for stainless protection bars for off-roads. But it’s also a new member of tuning scene, or styling respectively. So now you understand why Nissan 350Z shouldn’t be left alone.

So we can start with aluminum mirror covers, and then move trough the front spoiler improving aerodynamics and grill in it from buffed steel. Rims are quite different from stock ones. Audi TT Bimoto by MTM!

So today we have something hot (but older), again for you, again from the Germans. Those of you that have been satisfied with tuning cars with about 300 horses under the hood, read carefully, because this report talks about one German predator melting asphalt on the road. The result of hard work in a little town of Werrstetten maybe needs a gun license. Why? Because the Bavarian tuner MTM created a beast with 840hp! Because of two engines and 371kmph top speed!!!

Do we have your attention now? So continue in reading:

It’s a classic car that everybody knows – Audi TT. It also looks very similar from the exterior. Yes it have some spoilers on both ends, decent side intakes, three exhaust tips, interesting openings for air in a rear window and smooth bottom of the chassis. But that’s all.

But after that...the driver turn the key in the ignition, two controller’s light glows – Engine 1 and Engine 2...what the hell?! Where? And after this starting process like in an airplane, shift first speed, release the clutch and the hell begins! 1000Nm of torque are available and you feel them during the acceleration over 200kmph. We don’t need to measure 0-100kmph sprint. No sense in this. Nothing interesting. But for example values such as 0-200kmph in 6.3 seconds and 0-300kmph in 19.8 seconds sound much better! Pass nearby formula in 340kmph and track in 370kmph seems like thin line.

Its suspension had to be heavily modified, but MTM don’t want to reveal details. Grip is provided by high-performance Pirelli tires on 19“ MTM rims. This power has to be controlled do the MTM guys installed complete and specially modified BREMBO brake system. The whole car passed few diets so its weight is no more than 1490kg. And this means that there’s one horse per 1,77 kilogram. What’s your ratio? The MTM’s Bimoto is powered by two 1.8 liter turbocharged engines, one in front and second in a trunk. Both stock turbines were replaced with bigger one KKK, 3Kwarner respectively. The turbines produce 1.8 bars of pressure, but MTM again doesn’t want to release closer info. But it’s clear that they increased their power for 100%.

If you see this car in your rearview mirror, drive away! No need for any distance lights, blinker or similar signals. But who will buy this? Nobody. It’s a unique machine, only one of its breed. „And it won’t be for sale. Never.“ These are words of Mr. Mayer, an owner of MTM. „We’ve just wanted an extreme machine and we’re successful with 840hp.“ And we can prove that they did a great job. Yes, it’s not for sale, but who would buy it when its estimated price is more than 500.000 euros

Mercedes CLS Tuning by ASMA

There are many and many bigger or smaller companies doing tuning and so many delicious products in Germany. As we mentioned before, ASMA is specialized on luxurious vehicles under the Mercedes brand. The company produces especially visual parts so we can find many bumpers, spoilers, wings, lamps and much more in their portfolio. All products are made of finest materials. Mercedes CLS

The Mercedes CLS is based on a study „Vision CLS“ presented in Frankfurt 2003. One year later the sporting four-door coupe was born. It has a massive body (4913x1841x1390) and front headlamps enhance its sporting image. Tail lamps include LED technology. There are three engines available for this model:

- Mercedes CLS 350 (3.5 L):

Mercedes-Benz CLS Tuning:

If you had luck and you visited Frankfurt’s motor show, you couldn’t miss this luxurious tuning beauty. Maybe the most changed part is its front part. There’s a new spoiler on the bumper with same position of openings as the stock bumper to cool down brakes and engine. Side sills continue in lines of aerodynamic bodykit. The rear bumper is adapted to the lines of the rear part. In central part of the bumper we can find a diffuser with Duplex exhaust system terminated with four angular exhaust tips.

ASMA Street Shark's modification of Mercedes Benz CLS:

The tuners take safety seriously so now there are two new openings (covered with a black perforated sheet) for hot air off take from disc brakes. You can notice also very stylish chromed external mirrors. Chromed can be found on 20“ 8-spoke ASMA rims (10 x 20 in front and 11,5 x 20 at the back) booted into the stylish sporting tires with those dimensions: 255/30 ZR 20 in front and 295/25 ZR 20 at the back of the car. Adjustable suspension can change ground clearance in 35-50mm range. We can say that this modification isn’t finished yet, because ASMA is still developing products for this mode.

Citroen C2 Tuning in multimedia rage by SQ PLUS!

CITROEN C2:

This vehicle is especially suitable for ladies. The C2 is a smaller sister of bigger and popular C3. But it has sharper shapes, so it looks stylish and sporting. We can choose from four engines – 1.1i (44kW@5000rpm), 1.4i (54kW@5400rpm), 1.6i Sensodrive (80kW@5750rpm) and one diesel 1.4HDi (50kW@4000rpm). The strongest version can accelerate to 100kmph in 10.9 seconds and „fly“ at 195kmph. It’s not very good choice for family, because 166 liters of trunk. So you need to fold rear seats (increase to 224 liters) and leave your mother-in-law at home?. Of course this car has ESP, ASR and ABS systems that provide great safety also with tough chassis. We can say that the C2 is tuned also in the stock (leather steering-wheel, chromed pedals, shift knob and exhaust tip), but the job did by SQ Plus transformed this tiny compact to something unbelievable.

CITROEN C2 TUNING

As we said before, Citroen bet on experience of British SQ Plus that built Alien Citroen C2 in 6 months. You notice special paintworks at first sight. The silver paintwork with airbrush by Darren Horton cost 15.000 pounds. The front bumper is stock; there’s a place for license plate in the center and Powerflow rounded exhaust tip on its sides.

In the lower part you can see exhaust mufflers between fog lamps. The rear bumper and side sills match with the rest of alien style. Xenon headlamps will illuminate every monster in its sight (a mother-in-law too). There are no mirrors and doorknobs – usual tuning move. Stock 16“ rims were replaced with 20“ Toyo rims with low-profile tires and Mr. Chilli’s pneumatic suspension decreasing the Alien’s height.

The wheels replacement caused that fenders needed to be extremely extended. There’s a new wing on the rear window, so the car is now visually longer. Almost whole interior is covered with laminated parts so now it looks like a spaceship. Replacement of transmission allowed removing a central console behind the knob. Its seating capacity was decreased to driver only so the audio tunnel is now bigger.

The tunnel includes three powerful amplifiers and four Alpine subwoofers and behind the front seat you can discover a canister full of N20 gas. The interior is full of powerful speakers; some of them are placed also in the seats too. The dashboard includes five large LCDs that show what’s behind the car and also parameters of audio. And don’t forget that whole car is illuminated with blue neon tubes.

Hummer H3 Tuning by Geiger

Geiger Tuning surprised us with its off-road creations for many times. The experienced tuner clothed this Hummer with style, but without any emotion. But slowly. Also the decision to create the smaller H3 model depending on your wallet was surprising (hope that Hummer don’t think about some „Smart-like“ version). Geiger boosted attractively this model with additional horsepower. The 3.5 litre engine with compressor can produce 325hp (224hp in stock version) and 435 Nm of torque. This robust off-roadie can accelerate from zero to 100kmph in 8.4 seconds and has top speed of 210kmph.

This isn’t the newest product from Geiger’s workshops, but it’s worth of your attention. There’s a new sporting exhaust with catalyzer. The car is for 10cm closer to the road and it has improved stability. Braking power is provided with 355mm brake discs with 6-piston brake calipers. Hummer H3 stands on 9.5x20 light alloy wheels. The complete set with 265/60 tires and rims is available for 3.816 euros. The front chromed mask costs 1.560 euros and chromed side bars for 890 euros. In the interior we can find a new satellite navigation and leather parts.

Trabant 601 Xtreme Tuning

So today we have another Trabant tuning from Germany. I can’t predict if in the future we’ll drive a successor of this retro, like Beatle or Mini have. But for its fans, Trabant is still alive and this can be proved by this masterpiece from Germany. The first idea of its owner was racing so it got done a perfect engine with bigger volume of 900cu.cm. The engine has special modification of heads of cylinders, crank and pistons. Thanks to racing sparking plugs NGK and buffed carburetor by FZ, this engine produces 60hp. It doesn’t seem too much, but Trabant can reach 185kmph!

Everyone who drove or sat as a passenger in Trabant knows that the ride with this beast is something specific and it doesn’t need any additional comment. But meanwhile the owner realized that racing car needed more and more Money so he decided to rebuild its machine to a fancy show car to make some parade on the move. Its chassis was modified heavily – its pillars are shorter about 70mm (top chopping). Windows and fenders are made individually. Front clear headlamps came from VW Golf and rearview mirrors from motorbike. The killing performance needs a bunch of safety so the car has a roll cage, Jamex leather sporting seats and 30cm wide Raid steering-wheel. Koni is a producer of shock-absorbers allowing quite big deflection of wheels so thanks to this the car looks like a duck but handling is far better. ATS alloy rims has 13“ and in front they have 7“ of width and actually 8“ at the back. They wear 175/50 R13 tires.

The owner of this Trabi – Thomas hasn’t tried to obtain a permission to drive this little one on the ordinary roads by TÜV (Technischer Ü berwachungs-Verein) yet, but he’s going to do it in the near future. So, good luck!

Hamann‘s super-monster – BMW 6 Coupe!

The classics. A BMW car tuned by Hamann. You notice its beautiful design and elegant black paintwork. Designers played with smooth details and glamorous shapes of the predator. There’s a bunch of power inside of its heart – really nice 412hp. An original volume is 4.5 litres, but this offers excellent 5.2 litres of pure power.

So the guys needed to remove the original engine, modify, tune and place back under the hood. 412 horses under the hood is quite good value, don’t you think? Also its torque is monumental – 550Nm at 3900rpm (!). It’s very impressive also compared to the stock M6 with 520Nm at 8000rpm but with 507hp. So now your sound impression should be more pleasant?.

Maybe you think that this performance boost is possible only thanks to the volume extension. Of course not. There’s a new air filter, sporting cam, shaft, sporting pistons, ECU and exhaust system. But not only engine makes a car, so let’s take a look at the suspension. So what happened here? The ride is now lower – for 40 mm in front and 20 mm at the back. But it can be also possible to have -60 /-30 mm variations, but that requires really good roads. Rims can be 18“ or 20“, so that’s right also for demanding tuner.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 – more than perfect!

Also the last year in Geneva was a year of many new stock vehicles. Of course this occasion isn’t about stock vehicles, but also about concepts or modifications. The Italian manufacturer with a bull in its badge – Lamborghini, introduced their new Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

This model is a pioneer in the history of Lamborghini and fascinating evolve of Murcielago model. It’s a super sport suitable for the ordinary roads. The number 640 means 640hp under the hood. But the change wasn’t made only under the hood, but also in its design.

An ordinary model has amazing 580 horses under the hood, and now this beast. Major changes were made on the engine – extending its volume form 6.2 litres to 6.5 litres, so the torque is now 660Nm at 6000rpm.

Other changes were also necessary – modified engine intake, heads of cylinders, exhaust system and electronic transmission with a Thrust system. This gadget secures the best available traction and acceleration in all possible conditions. Similar system is used in Porsche’s 911 GT3 that was also introduced in Geneva.

The new Murcielago beats 100kmph in 3.4 seconds, what is 0.4 seconds better then the ordinary one. Feel dizzy? So the top speed is 338kmph. The LP640 has ceramic brakes with 380mm discs. All-wheel drive in 30:70 ratio is obvious and wheels wear Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires (245/35 R18 in front and 335/30 R18 at the back).

And what about the design? Lamborghini’s designers used their verified process that guarantees an exclusive design, but also high level of functionality. We can’t have only pretty gauges, but also we want to know what they show.

The new aggressive design of this road devil shows modified side sills and front bumper with aggressive lines like a white shark.

We’re used to see Lambos with sharp fronts with great aerodynamics. Its exhaust system is finished with a really big hexagonal exhaust tip in the middle of the rear diffuser. Maybe it’s a brave design, but very fancy too. Tail lamps are red with semi-transparent glass. Thanks to the glass they look like brilliants and that’s really beautiful. There great inlets behind the rear wheels with design matching to the exhaust tip.

But the most amazing thing on this car is its wheels. Black color with matt accent, big dimension and the design can’t be seen anywhere else. 5 groups in two spokes where one crosses another. I must say that there are no prettier wheels for this

VW Beetle is a modern symbol of people car built after the war for ordinary folks; having great price, air-cooled boxer with 4 cylinders and individual sound. This car survived many decades and it was still produced in Mexico few years ago. More than 50 years of production means the title of one of the longest production in the history. But what happens when an engineer with PhD title from Stanford wants to make some improvements? A revolution in tuning. We present you a breath-taking VW Beetle Jet Powered.

Yes, you’re right – jet means jet engine. So our engineers installed a jet engine from a helicopter to this three-door car without removing its original engine.

As he said, he wanted to build a jet powered car suitable for traffic. He removed rear seats and installed a General Electric Model T58-8F jet engine producing 1.350hp at 26.000rpm.

Of course this engine is so big that the car is now about 150cm longer. So the car has now a big opening for jet. But you need also count with next 2-3 meters for flames?

It’s not possible to turn on the jet whenever you want. You can turn it on only when you’re moving, because the engine is so powerful that it should fly away from through the front window the stopped car.

It’s creator couldn’t tell us the jet car’s top speed, because it was tested only on a closed runway and it couldn’t reach its possible top speed due its insufficient length.

But the creator confesses that he didn’t build this car for suicide but for fun. But he’s ready to lend the car to brave volunteers.

The Street-Legal Jet powered VW Beetle was built to be used in everyday traffic, but with the highest possible performance not allowed in the streets.

Something unusual and fantastic. But the result meets all ideas of the concept.

Audi A5 Tuning by Abt

A long-awaited model Audi A5 is just few week on the market and finally it helps the Ingolstadt manufacturer to compete Mercedes CLK Coupe or BMW 6.

The new Audi A5 is a car sometimes called as a „businessman’s express“ and needs to conquer its competition of premium and image segment not only with great design by VW’s chief designer Walter de Silva, but also thanks to driving capabilities.

As we‘d predicted, a tuning company Abt Sporstsline (traditional tuner of VW group’s vehicles) decided to change this model. Guys from German Kempten are known especially for engine doping and developing of sporting suspensions thanks to their long-lasting experience from motor sport they actively participate in.

But in the case of Audi A5 they also tried to modify not only technical part, but also its design and that’s not really an easy task to do as they said.

Changing style of the amazing car as our A5 really is, is like to change the orthography of reputable Walter de Silva.

You need to be brave and 100% sure that the result will be success. Abt Sportsline knew it so they intelligently avoided doing any unnecessary modifications.

They focused and retouch only details to enhance the car’s sporting accent and they did a great job as we can see on attached photos.

Actually we can say, that this modified model has more visual dynamics than the top stock model Audi S5 which was introduced together with its civil brother Audi A5.

The sporting image is especially noticeable in case of reworked bottom parts of integrated front bumper that is now more symmetrical with three modified inlets and horizontal dividing bars. All of three bottom air suction openings has internal grill with same structure and color and so it looks it’s made of one piece of grill covering whole lower side.

The front spoiler is finished with nice contour that’s more vivid just before the front wheels and it continues to decent side sills with elegant edge copying the stock shape of bodywork.

Its dynamical profile involves also rounded gill heat outlets integrated into the front fenders. Other visual parts are made in same way also at the back. The edge of trunk is enhanced with a nice moldings appearing from original line to the line of outer edges of tail lamps.

Space between double exhaust tips is filled with a plastic panel imitating an aerodynamic diffuser to improve sporting design of this elegant coupe. All external visual accessories are connected with an intelligent color scheme dividing the surface on separate zones. The zone defines the color of accessories to match or contrast with the color of main zone.

Program of engine modification haven’t been finished yet, but the tuners declares that 176kW (240hp) 3.0 TDI engine will have very nice 200kW (272kW). If they use more powerful turbocharger, they can offer even 300hp. Safety is the most important so the Audi A5 will have own braking system with 380mm brake discs. They look great under 5-spoke alloy rims of AR design range and they’re available in diameter 18“-20“. The range of modifications can’t be complete without an adjustable sporting suspension that makes the car perfect on the road or the track.

Caractere Volkswagen Eos Tuning

The Belgian company Caractere specialized in tuning of German brands, takes a beautiful convertible by Volkswagen called VW Eos. Eos comes from Greek mythology. Eos was a goddess of dawn that every morning left the sea and brought sunshine to her people. Also Volkswagen Eos brings the sunshine that white-out whole interior.

Also the stock version of VW Eos has nice sporting shapes, but still retiring and elegant. No doubt that this model is great, because also it has strong competitors – Peugeot 307CC, Renault Megane CC, Opel Astra TwinTop or Ford Focus CC.

VW Eos offers a nice range of engines, form 1.6 FSi with 85kW at 6000rpm to 3.6 litre V6 producing 184kW at 6400rpm. Wit this powerful engine it can reach 100kmph in 7.3 seconds and 247kmph. If you prefer fuel economy, you can choose less powerful 2.0 TDI turbocharged diesel aggregate producing 103kW.

So as we mentioned before, the design of Volkswagen’s Eos is excellent. But there are some people that want more – more individuality for someone who isn’t satisfied with stock design.

So this is the reason why Caracter takes Eos under their wings.

Eos has now a new front spoiler that radically changes the front part. In the best way, of course. Three big openings involve grids and fog lamps. There’s a new rear spoiler too. Potential customer can choose if he wants visible exhaust tips or not. It’s up to him.

There’s no bodykit without nice side sills connecting both spoiler’s lines of a car. Like both spoilers, also in this case, the side sills are decent and underline Eos’s sporting accent.

Audi A4 Tuning by Hofele Design

Middle and higher class among cars is characterized with more delegates. It’s especially BMW, Mercedes and Audi of course. We’ll talk today about the last mentioned brand. Maybe everyone from this planet knows the cars made by this brand. These vehicles have nice design, enough performance and comfortable interior. But they’re also known for their great luxury and maximum commitment to their owners. So when we have some attributes together, as a powerful engine, attractive design and luxurious interior, it can be only one thing – Audi A4 B6. It’s not enough; we add the name Hofele Design – because Audi together with Hofele make stylish cars attracting all bystanders.

AUDI A4

Now we’re preparing for the next generation of A4, but current one is still a great choice for those that want a great looking car (saloon, avant or cabriolet) with enough power under the hood, but also they don’t want to be in the middle of attention. Audi A4 offers all of these and it’s really a good buy.

Especially the model A4 B6 8E has really nice engines, nine petrol and six diesel engines. The most powerful is a 4.2 liter 6-cylinder engine producing 344hp (253kW). This engine can be found in S4 model, the most powerful variation of the second generation.

AUDI A4 TUNING

Hofele Design is known for its simple, but distinctive modifications. Now look at their second generation Audi A4.

The first step of the modification was made in front, where big front bumper dominates. It’s characteristic with three big openings to cool engine area. There is a pair of additional lights and stylish diffuser in the middle of the bumper. The central cutout perfectly matches with the curves of the front mask, now replaced with a new, sporting Hofele product. Final words of the front part are side spoilers and pair of gills near the front wheels. There’s anew product in Audi’s styling program – it’s a front hood called Powerdome. It has a oval part in its centre. Definitely, the Audi’s front part now looks excellent and Hofele guys did a great job once again.

Side sills are retiring to gently fit to the smooth lines of the side part. Again we can prove that simple solutions can be best. The rear part is tuned too. There’s a retiring sporting molding on the trunk. The rear bumper has now a new sporting diffuser with elongated opening in its center. Sharp and sporty sound is provided by a pair of oval exhaust tips.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren perfectly connects the heritage of legendary racing cars SLR from the 50’s with up-to-date technology of modern racing monoposts of McLaren-Mercedes.

Four years after the introduction of one of the today’s most powerful cars, Mercedes scores once again. The killer of Ferrari and Porsche as this car is often called has now a stylish removable roof and Roadster surname.

The coupe was also one of the pioneers in application of sporting technology into our streets. Its developers used a lot of carbon fibers that are heavily used in racing because of their incredible durability and low weight.

This carbon fiber technology was in case of the new roadster used even more, especially in construction of monocock’s chassis that is now extremely agile and durable against torsion forces even if the car hasn’t a solid roof. It provides nice safety thanks to its surprisingly high absorption ability.

Uniqueness of the roadster is hidden in the roof of course. In this case we can find a sophisticated system that can elegantly „uninstall“ the roof and hide it under cover panels without any negative effect on beautiful lines of the car.

This semi-automatic system requires only manual release from the front window. The rest is all automatic and electro-hydraulic mechanism needs only 10 seconds. Safety deficit of open body is compensated with steel-reinforced A-pillars and two fixed roll-over bars behind the seats.

The SLR Roadster has a brand-new roof material that protects its passengers against bad weather, but it’s also very flexible and aerodynamic stabile. The owner can enjoy its high output aggregate without any compromises also in case of the top speed 332kmph what’s comparable with the coupe version.

This all is a result of many hours spent in a wind tunnel, where designers found the best mix of design, safety and usefulness. Now you can enjoy ride without any acoustic or performance distractions.

Heart of the roaster is same as we can find in the coupe. It’s a supercharged V8 engine behind the front axle with 5.5 litres of volume. The engine produces 460kW (626hp) at 6500rpm. Massive 780Nm of torque is available just at 3250rpm and remains practically unchanged till 5000rpm. With three valves per cylinder and 5-speed AMG automatic transmission Speedshift R it needs only 3.8 seconds to beat 100kmph.

The new Mercedes-Benz SLR Roadster is like its older brother produced in McLaren’s factory in English Woking where they built also F1 monoposts. This model is available in exclusive distribution chain since September 2007.

BMW M3 Tuning by Lumma Tuning

Previous generation of the best, most powerful and sportiest of BMW 3-class called M is for us the most beautiful BMW.

It has a 3.2 inline 6-cylinder engine producing 343hp (252kW) connected with 6-speed SMG transmission.

M3 lost some weight (about 150kgs) in 2002, particularly thanks to many carbon composite parts.

Also they took a look at the heart and they pumped beautiful 360hp (265kW). Also the CSL was fine adjusted in Nurburgring and its famous circuit.

Lumma Tuning is known especially for its interesting, but not so much extravagant bodykits, but in this case it made an exception and prepared a really wide body.

But let’s start from the beginning. The front bumper is bigger and has more shaped lines so it’s similar to the newest 5-th generation E90.

You can’t miss massive extended fenders when you look from all sides. They have GTR style and look great on the M. Besides, they have „hot air from brakes“ off-take openings on their back. So when we have the extended fenders, there are also extended side sills to create smooth and clean design.

Also the rear bumper failed to resist the Lumma guys. Now it has bigger to match better with the extended side lines. Also there we can find openings for hot air off-take and diffuser with two chromed exhaust tips with 80 mm in diameter each.

Wheels do the car. This is a crucial rule of all modifications and Lumma knows it. So the tuned M3 rolls on light alloys rims (9.5x20“ in front and 12.5x20“ at the back) wearing 255/30 R20 and 305/20 R20 tires respectively.

So all these parts are made of high quality materials and also certified to meet requirements of European market. But it’s pity that these parts are available only for M3 models as coupe or convertible. I think that all models of last generation deserve these beauties.

Fiat Grande Punto Novitec X-One Tuning

The last project of Novitec had been Ferrari. But then it looked at a class of compact vehicles and created X-One modification for Fiat Grande Punto. The bigger brother of the new Fiat 500 has now aggressive look attracting especially younger tuners loving extreme modifications.

When you love gentle lines, you won’t like this Novitec‘s piece. The car lost its face thanks to chosen spoilers and eyebrows.

But it looks more aggressive and with help of white color it can fear the owners of more expensive and faster cars. Novitec X-One Fiat Grande Punto includes also a new adjustable suspension to allow lowering the ride for 75 mm.

MINI John Cooper Works CHALLENGE Tuning

Fans of British automotive legend Mini are used to see special limited editions of cute cars that regularly refresh the range.

The exclusive and sporting versions are traditionally called John Cooper Works and the newest masterpiece introduced in Frankfurt bears the badge saying Challenge.

This means that this fresh new Mini was developed for use in hard racing conditions, especially in the Mini Challenge Racing series.

Mini John Cooper Works Challenge won’t be even approved for use on the roads, its existence is primarily and only for racing.

This car is based on the most powerful civic version of Mini Cooper S, but its 1.6 4-cylinder engine is dramatically rebuilt to achieve great output and better curve of torque.

210hp is produced by the engine with a modified turbocharger, pistons, suction system with sporting filter, improved exhaust system with sporting catalyzer and of course with a remapped ECU. Value of torque can be temporary even 260Nm thanks to the engine’s over-boost function. But not only was the great performance the goal. You need also some nice traction to use this power.

The main source of the necessary traction is a adjustable roof spoiler with aerodynamic diffuser including a double exhaust tip.

The suspension has also crucial function in here, so the stock one was completely replaced with a sporting kit by KW Automotive with fully adjustable elements.

High performance sporting brakes with four-piston brake calipers stop the light Mini from 100kmph just in 3.1 seconds. The exterior bodykit of Challenge is made by John Cooper Works and 17“ Borbet alloy rims are really fancy.

Despite of the racing nature of our Mini John Cooper Works Challenge, the car is not available only for racing teams but also for private enthusiasts for 49.900 Euros VAT included.

ABT Sportsline Audi TT Roadster Tuning

This year’s summer is gone, but somewhere is still sunny to open roofs on convertibles. The newest Audi TT Roadster has been chosen by the German company ABT to push its limits to the max.

Maybe ABT guys missed more dynamics in case of its stock version; this modification is focused to improve this feature. They’ve started with a front bumper optically decreasing the ride closer to the ground thanks to its new lip and modified cut-outs and fog lamps. The front part ends with a modified front mask with added Abt badge.

Then the modification continues in side sills with enough aggression and dynamics. The front bumper comes from the original, but Abt added a functional diffuser with duplex chromed exhasut tips. There’s also a wing that is not only fancy, but fully working.

After all improvements, the Abt guys used a lot of white color. Maybe for somebody it looks ordinary, but matches amazingly. It‘s great to see this combination of white exterior and black mask and interior.
Of curse they didn’t forget about wheels. There are two models from Abt offer – AR 19 or AR 20 alloy wheels. Surprisingly, they have 19“ or 20“ respectively.

If you want, Abt can do some tuning to your engine. There are many options to increase output, no matter if it’s a basic 2.0 TFS V4 or sharp 3.2 FSI V6 aggregate. If we’re talking about the 2-liter engine, they can change standard 147kW (200hp) to 177kw (240hp) or even 221kW (300hp) and if it’s the 3.2 FSI, you can enjoy 262kW (355hp) of pure adrenaline. This performance allows Audi to reach 100kmph in five seconds. So Abt has changed brake discs to 380x34mm.

The 1.8T engine passed some enhancements in 1996 that resulted in 180hp (132kW) of power and even 220hp in Audi S3 model with all-wheel drive. Also the turbo diesel obtained a new PD technology and VGT to achieve 96kw (130hp). The same engine was used in sporting Skoda Fabia RS.

But this is now a part of history. In 2003, the second generation was introduced in Autosalon Geneva, now with more aggressive shapes attracting younger people.

Design of this generation was born by hands of perfect designer Walter de'Silva. But not only visual changes happened. Under the hood we can find new powerful engines – 2.0 liter turbocharged TFSi offering 147kW (200hp) and 3.2 liter V6 power-plant with 184kW (250hp).

Quattro system with semi-automatic transmission is optional with all engines above 140hp and it’s only option for the 3.2 V6.

2004 Audi A3 Sportback version was introduced in June 2004. It has same mask as the biggest and most powerful 2004 Audi A8 W12. Next important milestone for the Audi A3 was the year 2006. 2006 Audi A3 obtained a new two-liter turbo diesel producing 125kW (170hp) in April and the 2006 Audi S3’s TFSI achieved more power (final 195kW/265hp) in August because of bigger pressure of turbocharger – 1.2 bars cooperating with a 6-speed transmission and AWD. This bunch of power and Quattro drive can shoot the second generation of Audi S3 to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds and it’s about 25mm lower than ordinary A3.

Also this year is the year of change. A naturally aspirated 2.0 liter FSi engine is replaced by turbocharged 1.8 TFSI engine. The aggregate produces 118kW (160hp) and it’s available only with front-wheel drive. And 2007 Audi A3 can be also proud of its 2.0 TFSI engine as the engine of the year 2007.

Because of the Audi A3 with its design and powerful engines attracts especially younger drivers, it’s also a target of many tuners, like today’s German Kerschner. So the little Audi A3 passed some training. Her muscles are now more visible thanks to the front bumper with three big openings for additional cooling. There’s a nice lip under it.

We have to say that we’re really surprised by side sills. We’ve never seen side sills like these ones – made easily with sense for pure, not distorted design. And when we’re talking about our subjective impressions – the designers from Falkenber should use this sense also in case of the rear bumper, so a little bit more retiring.

But it’s our subjective opinion, so maybe you enjoy this bumper. On its sides we can see blind openings imitating off-take spots. Overall, this bodykit looks really good, from the front to the back, it continues in one line and visually decreases whole car made by Kerscher.

Seidl Tuning Mitsubishi Evolution VIII

Mitsubishi car manufacturer and its three diamonds in the badge are known for everyone. This manufacturer produces everything, from small compact city vehicles, through off-roads to special ones as Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Right this car was chosen by the company Seidl Tuning for next improvements. It’s the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in its 8th generation.

I think there’s no need to introduce this car. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is like an ordinary Mitsubishi Lancer but with WRC style. And that means really aggressive engine, suspension, interior with no comfort but great seating. It’s the car for those who want fast, but safe drive.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 has a 2.0 liter DOHC 16V turbocharged engine. The base offers 280hp. Of course there are FQ special versions with the most powerful FQ400 producing amazing 405hp. This version is similar or better than Lamborghini Murcielago, Audi RS4 or Porsche Carrera 4S.

Seidl Tuning Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8

Seidl Tuning and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 is a very nice partnership. Seidl used to tune especially German cars, but know they’ve decided to beat this sharp Japanese.

Because the engine and suspension are up-to-date, they made only bodykit modifications – front bumper, side sills and rear bumper.

The front bumper comes from original lines and it’s slightly modified. There are vertical bars in side openings and both sides has small lollypops now.

The most distinctive change is in case of new paintwork of central part. Now it’s black and it looks very interesting. They continued in the sills and now we can enjoy extreme ones with sporting image.

The rear bumper was next and it consists of three big openings with exhaust tip in one of them. Overall, this bumper looks nice; it’s simple but has nice details. The way of German tuners.

They didn’t forget about wheels. Original rims were replaced by chromed alloys with low-profile tires. I think this wasn’t good move.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo’s characteristic rear wing was replaced by slightly retiring with stop light.

And that’s all. The German Seidl tuning proves that they can do also non-German machines. They made the extreme bodykit for the extreme car. It’s not perfect, but looks good and drives perfectly.

Alpine Sinister Six BMW 645i Showcar

Today‘s automotive world is full of surprises, unexpected situations and news. We often hear about many new products or accessories recently developed and born in many variations, markets and styles. The automotive world is living its fast life and more and more frequently we meet cars that look very futuristic. Of course it’s still a master piece of one of many manufacturers and their teams full of professionals. The word car is connected with the word music from the beginning. The music is the car’s essential part in of form of various car stereo and set of speakers with possibility of other gadgets. And when we imagine a combination of two super-powers like the German BMW and Japanese car-audio master Alpine, maybe there’s nothing better. And the combination is a showcar for last year by Alpine that is everything but not normal. Please, welcome the lord of darkness called Alpine BMW 645i Sinister Six.

BMW 645I AND ALPINE ELECTRONICS

The love between the tuning scene and BMW vehicles may has no limits. More and more frequently we can see new models and tuning cars from all over the world. The BMW cars are real symbols of elegance and distinctive lines, so that’s why majority of tuning companies remain this hidden potential intact. But the Sinister Six isn’t conservative.
The dark Sinister Six is based on BMW 6 Convertible car. The BMW 6 Convertible is an elegant, retiring car that is attractive wherever it moves. Its stylish design attractive for everyone hides also another secret – a 4.8 liter V8 engine producing the maximum output of 367hp (270kW) and this power can boost the car to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds.

Alpine, a Japanese professional in car-audio stuff, knows very well why they’ve chose the BMW 6 for its showcar. This company was founded in 1967 and it’s based in Tokyo. They work on audio systems for cars like head-units, speakers, and stereos with DVD and satellite navigation and much more. They do their job perfectly and this is frequently proven by many awards and satisfied customers.

Simply said, the Alpine company belongs to the top in the world. And you know what cars such as Mini Cooper, BMW X5, Honda Civic or Citroen C2 have common? All of these cars were Alpine‘s showcars. And if you didn’t forget, you know that these showcars were quite crazy modified.
And today’s BMW 6 isn’t an exception.

BMW 6 CABRIO TUNING

Be honest, how many hybrid cars you’ve seen in your life? Because Alpine USA did something to that BMW 6, that isn’t usual even among ordinary tuning companies. Need for attraction is at the top and this car is its proof.

And this everything is possible thanks to Steve Brown and Gary Bell from Alpine’s Advanced Application R&D team.

It’s not very visible for the first time, but when you look closer at the wheels...and there are other doubts. I can hardly find appropriate words how to call this thing on four wheels, but it’s a car. But it’s undoubtedly something we can’t see every day. Ladies and gentlemen, please meet the showcar Alpine BMW 645i Sinister Six aka Mr. Furious.

Confess, that nobody expected so radical change of the stock car. The complete rebuilt of ordinary BMW 645 to this mad masterpiece consists of exterior and interior changes. It’s a completely reworked stock car. And now you can see the result of many hours spent in a workshop of two guys from the Alpine USA team.
They had accepted the will of their management and built a company showcar to be famous on the stage. So they took an ordinary BMW 645i Convertible (price $82.000) and started to make something unique.

The first step was about the car‘s complete cleaning – removal of body and interior and then continues replacement with easily tractable wood. Especially this material is the number one in many parts of the car, like the interior or trunk. It is used particularly together with Alpine products. But we’ll talk about these later.

But what attracts first? It’s a futuristic design in Aliens style that’s really elaborated. As we said before, all body parts were removed and only skeleton remained. And then the time for really mad bodykit made of glass fiber came. The car is now wider for about 23cm on each side so something big happened. Again it’s very hard to find right words, because there is many details we can find on the car.

The front part has a typical BMW mask, but a little bit stretched and filled with a grey perforated sheet.

Between the mask and original headlamps we can see a pair of fancy openings in the bumper. But more interesting part of the front is a pair of big spurs with integrated cut-outs on the bumper’s sides to cool down the front brakes. I think there’s no more massive BMW?. Because the core is the BMW convertible, the roof was erased and now it’s a convertible forever. Additionally the frame of front windows was lowered so the glass too. Fluent lines continue from the front part through the broader bumpers to elaborated sides of Mr. Furious.

But we can’t talk about some side sills installed. There are only some decent, but visible shapes of this part. Their main characteristic is four very nice shaped openings with blue illuminated Alpine signs. The elements like these are sometimes a perfect glitter to a car’s design. But the most shocking feature of the side is doors. There aren’t. We’ll talk later about this aim. So now there are two pairs of cooling openings for the brakes. Of course, the dark perforated sheet can’t miss.

So, now it’s time for one of two most interesting improvements made on this car. It’s a completely and maximum possible modified rear of Sinister Six. I think you’ve seen Ferrari F50 and its rear part with a decent wing and visible engine space.

So this is exactly used in our case. Similar massive, wide rear parts, big plexi-glass not over the engine, but audio system. So when Alpine produces car-audio components and this BMW is a showcar, we can expect Alpine’s products everywhere.

We need to say that the big glass extends during boarding to enjoy nine brand-new products from Alpine’s portfolio – powerful amplifiers (8x Alpine PDX1.1000 & 1x Alpine PDX4.150) and 9000W of raw power. And this is just the beginning.
There’s much more to show on this car. The designers continued to the rear part of the car. An amazing rear bumper with a pair of integrated exhaust tips on its sides and of course some nice diffuser can’t miss. But the diffuser isn’t something ordinary – it consists of four 12“ bass loud speakers Alpine SWX-1242D turned to the ground for a real big bang.

No time to chill, because skewed tail-lamps aren’t made of LEDs as you can think. They’re LCD monitors that are switched every 30 seconds from their „brake mode“ to playing your favorite music videos. DO you think that 30 videos are enough for you? There’s another Sinister Six writing in the tight mask between the lights.

There are many more similar all over the car. So the huge modification needs also a nice suit. This car wears a very nice black color from guys of House of Kolor. But there’s not only black all over the car, but an airbrush master Noah used his skills to create an alien style airbrush cover.

This superb airbrush shows many aliens and their typical world. It’s a great step to the ultimate showcar.

Some „minor“ changes were made also on the suspension. You think that 22“ rims on the BMW are too much? And what about 24“ rims in front and 26“ at the back? Please, meet Sinister Six.

The exclusive double-part 5-spoke black rims are made by the famous hot-rod producer Boyd Coddington. These heavy rims are also very wide – 10" and 13". These gigantic rims wear Falken tires Falken ZiEX S/TZ. You can imagine that 360 mm Brembo vented brake discs look quite small compared to the rims.

But now we continue to the interior, because not also the exterior has been changed. The interior is completely changed. We can start with a fact, that now the car isn’t a four-seater. It’s a single seater, but this seat isn’t in the middle as we can expect, but it’s more radical as we‘ve never seen before.

The verdict says – a central rotating console. Yes, there’s a rotating console instead of one seat and it’s something like a old-school chopper seat and bodykit full of implemented Alpine’s products. In reality it’s a circle placed on the floor with a place for one passenger or driver respectively.

Many speakers and other Alpine units are installed around the circle. The whole thing looks like some Star Trek base. When you push the button, the unit does 90o left turn allowing boarding and getting out. And the rear trunk cover slides to show the amplifiers.
Quite amazing, isn’t it? Also the console’s design is perfect, a real combination of beauty and usefulness. The turn of the console reveals on the right a pair of amplifiers (1x Alpine PDX1.1000 & 1x Alpine PDX1.150), that can produce more than 10.000 watts of music power together with next 9 units. All of this power is controlled by a complete multimedia brain Alpine VPA-B222R VehicleHub Pro OEM, the newest Alpine’s product.

It’s integrated on the left side and all other elements are connected with it. These elements include five 10“ LCD monitors integrated to the custom dashboard, DVD players with iPod Alpine DVA-5210 connector, multi-channel audio system controlled by Alpine PXA-H701 Dolby Pro Logic processor. And the most important thing – the most quality sound is provided by a pair of Alpine SPX-107R speakers and four central speakers Alpine SPX-17MB placed in front and the back of the rotating console + one piece in front of the seat.

We need to point out, that the side LCD panels are used as „external mirrors“ providing images supplied by a pair of mini cameras on the car’s sides. Other panels are used as a multimedia machine for DVDs and other visual stuff.

Brabus SV12 S Biturbo – the world’s fastest and strongest coupe!

A few numbers in the beginning: 730 hp, 1320 Nm and 340 kmph. And this everything is in a coupe chassis. Brabus SV12 S Biturbo coupe is based on the Mercedes CL600.

The most important heart of this exclusive car is an engine Brabus SV12S Biturbo built from a turbocharged 12-cylinder engine Mercedes 600 and it’s the most powerful 12-cylinder to be allowed on the streets. A special crankshaft with bigger cylinders and better forged pistons increase the engine’s volume from 5.5 to 6.3 litres. Other modifications of the engine include heads and camshaft.

Of course, some heavy modifications were made on the engine’s peripheries. This involves a special exhaust system, two bigger turbochargers, high-performance intercooler and exhaust with metal catalyzer and low back pressure. Brabus modified the ECU to drill the most possible output and to meet EURO IV emission requirements (limits for exhaust emissions, maximal values can be 1.00 grams of Carbon Monoxide, 0.10 grams of Hydrocarbon, 0.00 grams of HC+NOx, 0.08 grams of Nitrogen Oxide and 0.00 grams of Particulate Matters per 1 kilometer ).
This everything brings beautiful 730 hp (537 kW) at 5100 rpm and 1320 Nm of torque available even at 2100 rpm! But „only“ 1100Nm are available because of installed limiter.

This power of the engine is transferred through the modified 5-speed transmission to the rear axle. A limited slip differential is available too. Every mechanical is protected with ARAL lubricants.

Brabus SV12 S Biturbo coupe isn’t only the most powerful, but also the fastest. 100 km/h acceleration takes only 4 seconds and 200 km/h is done in 11.9 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 340 km/h!

Aerodynamics is an essential part of the car’s success. So then all aerodynamic parts were tested in a wind-tunnel. A sophisticated shape of front bumper provides necessary pressure to the front part and bunch of cool air to the cooler. Front fog lamps integrated to the bumper secure great illumination of the road.
Also the rear bumper was improved. In the bumper we can see cut-outs for double exhaust tips and three LED lights at the back, 5 lights under the side sills to show what’s under the car as seen on TV - Fast and Furious style. The rear bumper was also tested in the tunnel to provide great under-pressure and high-speed stability on the roads.

This power increasing needs also better suspension parts, brakes and quality tires. Brabus offers Brabus Monoblock light-alloy rims (18,19,20 and 21“). Under the fenders you can install the biggest available rims – 9Jx21 in front and 10,5x21 at the back. The biggest available tires are 265/30 ZR21 and 295/30 ZR21 at the back. Brabus recommends Yokohama or Pirelli models.

New suspension parts decrease the car’s height for about 25 mm. Brabus installed its own high-performance brake system. 380x36 mm brake disc with 12 piston brake calipers are on the front axle and 355x28 mm discs with 6 pistons calipers are at the back.

Airborne Mini Coupe Tuning

A small Englishman called Mini Cooper is often a target of many tuners. A designer Joe Iacono and Rick Leos, a famous hot-rodder from Autocraft of Torrance in South California like small, but cute vehicles, so they’ve taken one Mini Cooper to a garage.

So these gentlemen has done one modification named Mini Cooper S Cabrio R53, but now they want to know what amount of power under the hood can this tiny car handle. So they’ve focused to its stuff under the hood.

So the first thing done was modifications of head cylinders on the Mini’s 1.6 four cylinder engine.

Of course, the performance tuning like this need better camshafts, tuned lead-ins and modified exhaust system. Also there’s new turbocharger and heavy duty intercooler. These ingredients boost the engine to some 300hp.

It’s pity that there’s no closer info about its top speed, acceleration and other interesting stuff. This power engine must do miracles in case of the light-weight Mini.

So the R56’s design looks exactly as the previous R53. A sporting bodykit bringing some muscles is a work of Joe Iacon. It’s not very aggressive, but decent with a sense for pure lines.

And if you combine the bodykit with beautiful black rims with red hem and vented brake discs under; the best warrior mix is here to attract all nearby eyes. And the Englishman looks great!

And what about its interior? The whole interior includes black leather upholstery with red stitches all around and it’s a great choice. Everyone who enters the car knows that it’s in the Airborne, because all Mini badges were removed and replaced with Airborne ones.

Geiger Cars Hummer H3 GT – the angel and hammer

GeigerCars isn’t anything unknown. This German company based in Munich has doing tuning for many years only to real American cars as Hummer, Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang or Dodge Viper. Every car from their workshop is unique. We’ve brought you some of their creations before and today we’d like to show you one of their newest cars.

It’s the „smallest“ brother of Hummer family called Hummer H3, codename Alpha. So now, it’s not a usual „hammer“, especially after this modification. It’s something special. How it’s possible? It was simple – a total rebuild of stock Hummer – wheels, paintworks, interior and engine...everything you can remember of.

So first thing you notice for sure are wheels. Yes, these rims are big, very big. The bigger, the better.

Tuners compete to install better rims on the Hummers, so GeigerCars want to be first too.

There are five-spoke 23“ alloy rims with black center and chromed hem wearing 305/35 R23 rims. But who wants more, you can buy 305/35 R24 rims.

Behind the rims we can see big vented brake discs to stop these 2.3 tons of mammoth muscles in every situation. But not only brakes were changed. GeigerCars installed a sporting chassis that decreases the car’s height and improves stability and handling in high speeds or tight curves.

The tuners say that the Hummer H3 isn’t only a luxurious SUV but off-road too. But we know that with 23“ rims you can’t fight with some heavy terrain.

The H3’s engine was improved too. Now the 5.3 liter V8 aggregate produces 300hp of raw power. Its top speed is 124mph (about 200kmph). This was achieved thanks to software change of engine and transmission, sporting air filter and complete stainless exhaust system with two exhaust tips producing beautiful sound.
The most important change is a new color. White color is still stylish, so this car is white too. But there’s not only white color all over the car, so we can see a simple blue strip in the middle of the car. There are other strips with Hummer GT brand on the H3’s sides.

But what’s strange? Almost everything is white. So there’s no characteristic chromed mask, it’s white too, similarly as exterior mirrors and all plastics on the car.

If you think that bumpers are different, you’re wrong. All bumpers are original, but the car „lost“ its spare wheel from the rear doors and roof rails.

But GeigerCars added decent fender’s hems, white side steps and sunroof. Former orange blinkers are black, so tail lamps are dark.

Side blinkers aren’t stock, but improved model that is higher. Tinted glassed are compulsory on the scene. And that’s all about the exterior.

Lumma tuning for BMW E92 3 series

Everything started thanks to the first model BMW E21. Then BMW E30 appeared and it’s still popular, especially among young and drift beginners because of its 2.5 liter 6-cylinder aggregate producing 170hp. Next favorite engine can be found behind the 318is badge. It’s a 1.8 liter 4-cylinder aggregate producing impressive 140hp and it’s lighter than V6s too. So its power/weight ratio is amazing and that means great maneuverability and fast drive. And there’s some rare model – the really first M model – BMW E30 M3.

BMW E30 series was replaced with new BMW E36 models in 1992. Rounded headlamps from E21s and E30s were changed for elongated square ones. It became bigger too. The most powerful aggregates of this generation are 2.5 and 2.8 liter V6 (both producing 192hp) and 2.5 TDS diesel engine which wasn’t very impressive.

Maybe that’s why BMW sold this engine to Opel...marketing tricks :-) The BMW E36 model was produces in many version like the previous E30 – 4-door saloon, coupe, convertible, touring and shorter version of coupe called „compact“.

Finally in 1998, first BMW E46 models has appeared and replaced old E36s. Beautiful oval curves were nice change compared to the previous models. Also this generation offers many engines and fortunately also good diesel version like 136hp from 2.0 liter turbo diesel. Demanding customers would like its bigger brother with three liters of displacement and 184hp.

Of course petrol power plants were elaborated too, but we can find also older versions. Like the 2.5 V6 engine with Vanos technology offering 192hp. Also 221hp from a 3.0 liter V6 appeared. The most powerful M version has a 3.2 liter engine under the hood and 343hp are transferred to the rear axle.

And now we can move to the latest generation BMW E92 introduced in Geneva in the year 2005. Yes, it’s more than 2 years. Maybe its modern shapes weren’t pleasant for those used to beautiful E46, but now almost everyone likes these modern, stylish shapes of bodykit available as a saloon, touring, coupe and convertible.

Majority of engines available in this generation came from the E46 models, but with some modifications of course. There are new 3.5 liter 6-cylinders – one petrol and one diesel aggregate. The most interesting engine is the petrol version that isn’t naturally aspirated but it has not only one, but two turbochargers! BMW car manufacturer used a turbocharger in the model 2002 which was something like a predecessor of the series.
And why the engine needs two turbos? This answer is very simple for those who know something about turbo technology. The big one serves big output, in this case there are 306hp (242kW). But big turbos has one big disadvantage – a turbo lag. A turbocharger needs some time and high revs to work efficiently. So there’s a smaller turbo to patch this lag till there are necessary revs. It works from low revolutions and it’s a great solution of this problem. This engine allows reaching 100kmph in 5.5 seconds and top speed is 250kmph. Bavarian engineers have achieved another important goal – fuel economy under 10 liters per 100km. This car needs only 9.5 liters per 100kmh combined.

This is the country, where is a cradle of the automotive world. And this country is a birthplace of the Dodge brothers. After many years, the surname Dodge became a symbol of four wheels and symbol of America too. Since its first model in 1914, till this year 2007, this manufacturer passed a long way with magnificent and unavoidable progress that is really a part of mankind’s history. So the year 2007 – the newest model Avenger that continues in a perfect history of the American brand. Ant this saloon is an essential part of one modification in „Star Wars“ style called the „Stormtrooper.“

INTACT DODGE AVENGER

It’s noticeable at first sight that this saloon isn’t from Europe. Its robust chassis, massive curves, aggressive design – these are classic signs of American approach to car’s design. This car shows its power and big bunch of self-confidence. It’s really the Dodge car. The manufacturer addresses the Avenger to people searching for medium-sized automobile that has also a great history and legacy of muscles. No doubt it will be successful.

Nobody can doubt of combination Dodge and power. Dodge has been also well known for its not small engines with great performance. And also today it’s characteristic for this brand, of course not in Europe, where gasoline isn’t so cheap and local people like diesel too.

The Avenger has same „European“ destiny. It offers three petrol engines with the most powerful 3.5 liter V6 producing 235hp (173kW) that’s not very suitable for European prices. So European dealers offers still attractive 2.4 liter 4-cylinder „World engine“ pumping 170hp (127kW) at 6000rpm that can roll all four wheels. But if you want, you can still have the more power American version
This tuning work radically changed the Avenger. Its massive look is still magnificent, but the car looks different, in good sense. You can see why it’s called Stormtrooper, because it resembles troopers from Star Wars series wearing similar white futuristic „armor.“ It’s really interesting, but it’s not really for everybody. Anyway, it’s an American „muscle“ car, so this future wardrobe looks OK.

The first and most distinctive change is a new complete bodykit. So it’s beginning with its front part with an atypical front bumper. It includes three weird Star Wars-like openings. Two sides openings has typical sharp edges and their connected with a distinctive crossbar all over the bumper.

The bumper includes also a spoiler that makes it all bigger. It’s very unusual piece, a combination of sporting and futuristic and it’s good that it’s placed on this vehicle.

The Avenger has now better lights – Umnitza predator „angel eyes“ with dark reflectors and xenon lamps. That makes very nice mix of snow-white paintjob and dark lamps.

Next modification is visible on the sides. Guys have installed new side sills that can be called „stone“. It’s strange, but they have another feeling than other ones. They look robust and they have boxy shape. But they match with the Avenger and of course they are new muscles for this beast.

ZAnother interesting feature is whole fuel system including tank camp that comes from Dodge Challenger. You definitely notice a magical PPG tinted windows and also exterior mirrors. Safety first.

The rear part of the car has been changed radically to its new interesting look thanks to the new rear bumper.

Its distinctive sporting lines enhance the car’s elegant spirit. A pair of weird Borla exhaust tips can be found in a diffuser. The Avenger’s stock rear wing has been replaced with a new inspired by the predecessor. Also pure tail lamps have been tinted to match with the rest.
Interior
The interior of this vehicle is luxurious as its exterior. Only the finest and most luxurious materials are used to make its passengers happy.

Almost everything has new wardrobe – from dashboard, doors, central console, specially shaped steering Wheel, through shift knob, pillars, Charger SRT8 sporting seats etc. They’ve used materials such as nice dark Alcantara or leather upholstery in red/black/white with red stitching.

The Avenger’s multimedia stuff is more interesting. The dashboard has now three new additional Mopar Performance gauges. And everybody who loves American cars knows that Mopar is one of the best.

And now something crucial – a pair of mobile Azentek PCs with 1.8 GHz CPU Intel Core Duo and 2GB of memory installed in the dashboard and between rear seats. This system has some very nice advantages.
You can play games, watch movies or listen to music, but also connect with Mopar Performance and order new parts or tune your engine online. Smart stuff. Also you can connect with Dodge headquarters and download technical service bulletins to check parameters, communicate with servicemen or owners of Dodge vehicles. The system has Bluetooth, so there’s no problem to connect other devices such as PDA, cell or MP3 players. Nice amount of music power is delivered by Kicker audio system.

Performance
So let’s move to the last chapter – engine improvements. Its stock engine is quite powerful and minor improvements wouldn’t make any important improvement. So it has been replaced and now there’s a bigger and stronger engine from Nitro R/T.

It’s the 4.0 liter V6 engine producing 264hp (194kW) and 359Nm connected with all four wheels and 6-speed automatic transmission.

There’s a new KW suspension adjusted to optimal sporting characteristic without loss of comfort. More power needs better brakes, so they’ve installed sporting brakes by StopTech with 6-piston brake calipers in front and 4-pistons at the back.

Believe or not, this German rocket has 4 years, but there’s not any indication of its retirement. Developers can’t allow that because they’ve recently introduced its improved version with a fully retractable top and the Roadster has been born. Thanks to this step, lovers of sunny days have another reason to take a look at showrooms of Mercedes.
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was developed after many years of intensive development that is an answer to demand for super fast, great-looking sports car with F1 roots.

First look at this car makes your heartbeat faster, but wait till you start the engine. This street rocket is a symbol of innovative design, up-to-date technology and luxurious work of designers. The SLR is characteristic with its pure sporting image including dominant parts such as side suction openings, elongated hood with sharp top, „fan-style“ rims, rear LED lamps or vertical doors.

It’s four years of its existence, but it’s still a dangerous competition of the newest super cars. There’s a supercharged V8 with a compressor under the hood. It’s situated in the front, it has 5.5 litres and it can produce 626 hp (460 kW) at 6500 rpm and monstrous 780 Nm from 3250 rpm. This everything is available through a 5-speed ANG Speedshift R automatic transmission that can shoot the car to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and to 332 km/h.

It’s not an easy task to improve the sharp car like this one. But someone is so skillful and courageous without any boundaries of imagination. And Brabus is one of them. The company has been working on German cars for many decades and it has different philosophy than other tuners. It’s based on performance and sporting beauty.

Brabus has prepared styling and performance kit for this sprinter to boost its attractiveness.

So let’s start from outside, where we can’t see many changes, but important ones. There’s a new carbon spoiler under the decently modified front bumper. The spoiler exactly fits with simple lines of the bumper and its extreme rigidity and low weight guarantees its long life. The spoiler was also tested in a wind tunnel to achieve perfect air-flow without any difficulties. Hood inlets have carbon grills instead of stock aluminum ones.

Openings are covered by a traditional and everlasting dark perforated sheet.

We can find same attributes in case of massive rear diffuser also made of ultra light and tough carbon material. This part also takes care of air-flow and perfect stability of the car.
Brabus isn’t only about styling, but particularly about performance engine tuning. And today’s SLR isn’t an exception. The stock SLR‘s engine has obtained a new, better and especially louder exhaust system, new camshafts and cooling. Optionally they can install a special sporting clutch-type limited-slip differential improving traction of the super cars. These improvements raise the engine’s power to 650 hp (478 kW).

Brabus is well known for its quality and great-looking rims. This one wears 20“ 6-spoke Monoblock VI rims with double spokes in size 9.5Jx20 in front and size 11.5Jx20 on the rear axle. You can choose Pirelli or Yokohama tires in size 255/30 ZR 20 in front and 305/25 ZR 20 at the back.

Brabus didn’t forget about the interior so it’s full of the finest materials as red leather or dark Alcantara.

There are also carbon parts as a cover of central console, door handles etc. The SLR’s interior involves a very interesting checked upholstery of the floor and newly designed sporting steering-wheel.

2007 Honda S2000 CR Concept

The club racer-inspired 2008 Honda S2000 CR Prototype making its world debut at the New York International Auto Show introduces a higher level of track-worthy performance and style to the S2000 roadster, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced.

The S2000 CR will be available as an entirely new S2000 trim level when it goes on sale in the fall of 2007. The lighter, stiffer and more aggressive overall design is engineered to maximize the S2000's potential on a racetrack with the goal of substantially-improving track times, chassis balance and feel. The factory-tuned roadster provides highly-aggressive suspension settings, increased body and chassis rigidity, overall weight reduction and an aerodynamic body kit dialed-in for reduced lift. An aluminum hardtop replaces the convertible soft top as standard equipment.

"The S2000 CR is the closest thing you can get to a Honda-built racecar with license plate holders and a horn," said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Its features and equipment are designed to appeal to weekend club racing enthusiasts."

The full-body aerodynamic package reduces lift through large and highly-tuned front and rear spoilers. Exclusive chassis features include a quicker steering ratio, Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tires, a wider rear tire size, firmer springs and dampers, larger stabilizer bars and a new wheel design in a dark gray color.

Substantial structural bracing has been added to the storage area previously occupied by the soft top, resulting in additional rigidity. The aluminum hard top replaces the soft top of the conventional S2000, resulting in an overall weight savings of approximately 90 pounds when removed (relative to the current S2000).

The exclusive interior is highlighted by unique cloth seating surfaces with yellow stitching, a unique spherical aluminum shifter and carbon fiber-style trim panels. Air conditioning and an AM/FM Stereo with CD player are optional equipment. Standard features for the S2000 include 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, ABS and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA). JDM Honda S2000 Type-S

Following the preview of Honda's S2000 Club Racer in April, a similar S2000 is to debut in Japan. The S2000 Type-S is now being advertised on Honda Japan's website featuring the same large rear wing, bodywork and wheels as the USDM S2000 Club Racer. From the teaser photos on the site, it seems the Type-S will retain the soft top, unlike the CR which had the roof mechanism removed in the pursuit of weight saving.

With the Tokyo Motor Show just around the corner we expect more to be revealed then.

Rally Legend Colin McRae Killed in Helicopter Crash

Acclaimed rally driver Colin McRae and his son were among four people killed in a helicopter crash near his home in Lanarkshire, Scotland on 15th September. Mr McRae, 39, his son Johnny, 5, his friend Ben Porcelli, 6, and family friend Graeme Duncan, 37, were all thought to be on board.

A keen pilot, McRae was the first Briton to win the World Rally Championship drivers' title in 1995 driving for Subaru and was a runner-up in 1996, 1997 and 2001. The son of five-times British rally champion Jimmy McRae, and brother of Alister, also former British rally champion, Colin gained a reputation for his maximum attack - even continuing after rolls.

Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those killed in this tragic accident.

The JDM CTR will take part in a Type-R one-make racing series, something Japanese manufacturers are keen on with stripped out versions of Toyota's Vitz (Yaris), Nissan's March (Micra), Susuki's Swift (Ignis) and Mazda's Roadster (MX-5) all available in Japan for racing series'.

The race special loses the helical LSD, seatbelts, seats, steering wheel, interior trim, entertainment, air conditioning and the all important flare in the pursuit of weight saving. Big loses in equipment are translated into a 40% discount over the road going Civic Type R price, which sits at a very reasonable 1,690,500Yen or £7,292...

LUMMA TUNING BMW E92

This generation has really some nice mojo and the coupe version proves this definitely. It’s internally called E92 and it’s clear that tuners will love it. One of these tuners is Lumma Tuning, a famous tuning company doing elegant and quality bodykits for various brands and models.

Lumma Tuning brings some aggressive look thanks to used eyebrows. Traditional chromed mask was replaced with a carbon model and exterior mirrors are made of same material.

More attention is focused on the front bumper. It has a decent spoiler that fits perfectly with rest of the car. Also the rear part has a new decent spoiler.

H&R springs secure better stability on the road and the car is closer to the ground – 50mm in front and 25mm at the back. This fancy car includes Lumma Racing 8,5x19 light-alloy rims with 235/35 R19 Toyo tires.

Finally, all BMW logos and badges were removed and now everyone is sure that Lumma Tuning did a great work on this car. The car that is beautiful in the stock, but Lumma and its experience made no mistake on its design.

Christmas will be soon here. A typical ugly autumn weather and overcrowded supermarkets are characteristic for this season. Christmas trees, Santa Claus, reindeers, snow – these are symbols of the best part of the year. Today we’d like to show you something for your holiday by the famous Rieger with its beautiful and luxurious Mercedes-Benz SLK.

Mercedes-Benz SLK continues in the legacy of smaller luxurious sport convertibles that started in 1954 with the model 190 SL (W121). I think you know this SL and it was very successful. Why not, it has not only unique design, but also handling far better then other cars in that age. 14.5 seconds to 100kmph was something unbelievable in that time for any car. They built 25 881 SL vehicles since May 1955 till February 1963. But Mercedes redeemed this legend in 1996 in Turin when introduced the SLK model (R170). It was face-lifted four years later and the newest model is available since 2004.

Design of the newest model is inspirited with features of Formula 1 racing vehicles. That reveals its sporting and elegant character.

Beautifully shaped curves as the excessive top of the front part, wing profiles in the mask and double exhaust tips definitely assign the SLK to the sporting family. Double exhaust

Thanks to the long-time research of aerodynamics; the Mercedes SLK has the lowest coefficient among all convertibles.

An ordinary, not interested man could say that the car is almost perfect and there’s nothing to be improved. But tuners like us know what’s good. And Rieger knows it too.

Rieger remade the big bear to a little chicken. No, it’s not a child toy, its strong characteristic remains and we can play with the very aggressive chicken.

Rieger started with a front bumper. It’s connected with a front mask. Front maskTo change the whole look; Rieger changed the front hood too. Also the front mask isn’t divided to two parts, but it belongs to the front bumper.

But something is missing in the front. Yes, there’s no three-spoke star on the edge, the logo of Mercedes-Benz. There’s only a big chromed circle with the logo on the front mask. You can obtain also a circle without this Mercedes Benz logo. There are quite big eyebrows on the front lights in same color as the body. I think that’s all about the front.

We can see massive Rieger-style side sill from the side view. But generally, there’s nothing special on the side. big But many important things happened at the back. Rieger added a lower part to the SLK’s decent bumper. bottomIt’s typical for its two wide openings with a massive double exhaust tip on the left. There’s also a decent rear spoiler on the trunk.

Rieger offers more rims to choose. There are mostly chromed ones. Right these are great match for luxurious Mercedes cars. So for this bodykit you can choose from these models: ASA ZT1 CHROM 8,5Jx19 ET 30 + 10mm distance washers and 235/35 19“ tires or 10,5Jx19 ET 25 + 3mm washers and 265/30 19“ tires chrome discs

Hofele Design Audi Q7 – Full Option

There are some reasons, why SUV cars are so popular. We don’t want to argue why, cos everybody knows own truth. It doesn’t matter if they’re bigger than ordinary vehicles; they’re good basics for tuning too. Especially these days they are very popular among tuning companies. Many tuned Porsche Cayennes of Touaregs are driving on our roads. And I think it’s just the beginning. Let’s say the truth – the big vehicle with perfect design and great quality is attractive almost for everyone. And they’re so attractive, that tuning companies produce new tuning packs for the cars that have been modified yet. One of these companies is a German tuner of Audi, VW and Porsche called Hofele Design that tunes the monstrous Audi Q7 again. So today, we have their second styling pack named „Full Option“.

AUDIQ7

Audi Q7 isn’t a newbie on the scene, but its fame isn’t fading. But it’s vice-versa; thanks to its big dimensions with an aggressive nose, extra powerful engines and luxurious A6 interior; this mammoth is one of the most popular SUVs on the roads. And we can continue – luxurious comfort, high level of safety, attractive design and here we have a real family lover. And what about its performance? Audi offers five engines for this model and the most powerful aggregate is a 4.2 liter V8 petrol engine including FSI technology and producing 350hp (257kW) and 440Nm of torque. Prepare yourself for amazing experience on the road and also fill your wallet, because its urban fuel consumption is 19.5 liters/100km and that’s not something expandable.

HOFELE DESIGN AUDI Q7 FULL OPTION

Tuning accessories are much better than before and this is also the case of their design made by tireless designers and developers. And the new tuning pack for Audi Q7 by Hofele Design is a real delicacy.

EXTERIOR
The „Full Option“ styling kit consists of many exterior parts. So let’s begin with the front part and its new front bumper. It’s characteristic with two big, interestingly shaped openings that are bigger than the stock. They’re filled with a grey perforated sheet with big „eyes“. There’s an interesting addition to the bumper in form of two side spoilers with openings and stylish engine cover between them. In addition, the small side openings include four additional Hella lights – two fog lamps and two corner lights. The kit involves very exclusive front mask. It’s same as the one from A8, S8 or W12 respectively, enhanced with a chromed hem and chromed grill filling the opening of the mask. The last stop in the front part is a scope on the hood that isn’t very distinctive, but it has own importance.

This change of the Q7 moves this SUV to next level.

The side part of the vehicle has new decent side sills with integrated opening at their back. In combination with additional hems of fenders, chromed moldings of body and chromed hems around the windows are very nice additions of the modification.

The rear bumper is totally new and it’s very different. It’s not only lowered, but it includes a protection of the chassis and integrated exotic exhaust tips on its sides. There’s a new rear wing on the rear doors enhancing the car’s sporting image.

The tuners have also focused on the car’s suspension. Now the Q7 has sporting springs that decrease its height for 40mm. Extending washers are combined with beautiful 22“ 5-spoke Reverso-22 Anthracite rims with dimensions of 10Jx22“. These rims wear Pirelli 295/30 R22 slick tires. Design of the wheels is breath-taking and it matches perfectly to the car’s image.

INTERIOR
Hofele hasn’t show the interior yet, but I think that we can expect a new one full of carbon, leather and exotic wood.

PERFORMANCE
So the last part of today’s presentation – maybe it’s not good news, but performance tuning is available only for the „weakest“ diesel aggregate. For now. It’s a 3.0 turbo diesel engine producing 233hp and 500Nm of torque. But now it can offer nice 280hp and 580Nm.

Essen 2007: Phantoms inhabit VW

Artist William Burge has found a way to artfully reattach all of the little pieces that have fallen off his 1968 Volkswagen Beetle. The results are far more impressive than the Bug's original and once-ubiquitous countenance. Actually, we counted all 21,000 gigashards of metal, and that's more metal than a '68 Type 1 contained, and even the steady diet of replacement parts doesn't account for the amount of cold-rolled whatever comprising this bodyshell. The car's exhibition at the Essen Motor Show is apropos on a whole bunch of levels.

The gargoyle-themed Volkswagen will fit right in among the cathedrals and castles in the city, which is a future European Capital of Culture for 2010. Being a cultural hub, the intricate suit of armor worn by Burge's once-humble Beetle will be understood for the masterpiece that it is, and the painstaking metal work that went into the car will not be lost on the home of the Krupp Iron Works. There's not much information to be found about the car, which Burge has named "Phantoms," though it's been on display in Essen from November 26th, and will be at the Motor Show until the 9th of December. We're dying for details, particularly how it was put together? What's the interior look like? Is it still being pushed around by a 1500? Can I borrow it to discourage parking in front of my house? Essen 2007: delta4x4 DUNE PROJECT

While delta4x4 would like you to think its Grand Cherokee SRT8-based DUNE PROJECT is ready to storm the desert, those 23-inch rims wrapped in 40-series Continentals say otherwise. No matter. We think the DP's cool nonetheless, thanks mostly to the 499 horsepower it dishes out courtesy of a revamped exhaust and reprogrammed engine management system. 62 miles per hour arrives in under five seconds.

Visual changes include a 100 mm lift, a custom front bumper with an integrated Warn winch, and PIAA off-road lighting mounted to the front wheel arches and a stainless roof rack. The matte maroon finish isn't exactly attractive, though, and those bright blue brake calipers don't help matters in that regard, either. Colors, thankfully, can be changed. We'd leave everything else just as is.

The Morgan Aeromax is a vehicle that is based on the Morgan Aero 8, and was commissioned by Prince Eric I. Sturzda, and only 100 will and have been manufactured. The Morgan Aeromax was built out of many alloys and uses a single alloy sheet to the forming, while the frame, built of ash, has been laminated for an exceptional amount of strength and insured that it remains durable, strong, and provides for a large amount of protection for the driver in the event of a collision. Featuring three backbones on the interior skeleton the frame also incorporates nine layers of laminates and has them visible from the inside of the car. The Morgan Aeromax also features a BMW N62 V8 for its powerhouse, an engine capable of great power and yet has a very modest to limited emission output and a decent fuel economy, making the car easier to maintain. The detail put into the Morgan Aeromax include the chassis beams and the custom build luggage, along with a split rear window to provide access. The chassis beam protects the driver in the event of a highly-unlikely rollover.

The new BMW 3 Series Convertible, BMW’s first open four-seater with a three-piece electronically operated retractable hardtop, will be presented for the first time to the public at the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) on 7th January 2007. Other cars on display at the show will include the BMW X5, a new version of BMW’s highly successful SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle), and the BMW Hydrogen 7, which is able to run on both hydrogen and conventional gasoline.
